We have available 3 wonderful Ready Made / Ready to Run 2yo colts direct from the salering of New Zealand Bloodstock.
Each of these 3 colts breezed up in spectacular fashion, running significantly faster than the average time of 10.85 secs for the 200m at Te Rapa racecourse. Importantly, for all clients viewing the footage was the easy way each went through this work without being placed under any pressure. There is plenty of improvement available in each colt.
The 3 colts are:
Lot 23 MAGIC ALBERT / BADINOV'S BABE Time: 10.65
Lot 259 ENCOSTA DE LAGO / PETTA GAYE Time: 10.67
LOT 387 NORTHERN METEOR / VILLA VALENCIA Time: 10.63
These colts were broken-in and educated in Australia by Olympic Equestrian Representative Shane Rose and were then put into work at Wild Oaks before being sent to NZ to be prepared for the breeze up and then for sale preparation.
From the time they were broken-in, Dynamic Syndications had the “
inside mail” that they were “
well above average” and had the class to be Black Type candidates.
How did we know ?
What was our inside knowledge about them ?
Answer: Dean Watt purchased these 3 colts for Dynamic Syndications at the yearling sales in January. They were big, strong and perfect examples of what a thoroughbred yearling should look like and Dean had the technical knowledge to forecast how they would most likely mature over the next 10 months.
Importantly, as per every horse we buy, they were vetted and passed without issues and had 100% clean x-rays and were also endoscoped and found to be clean, thus removing doubt of any windflow concerns.
Most importantly, as our clients are aware, we will “never” purchase a horse without an outstanding genetic balance to its pedigree and with the cross having a proven ability to produce Stakes Winners.
These 3 colts were rated:
Lot 23 MAGIC ALBERT / BADINOV'S BABE Rating: A++, 2,124%, 4 SW
Lot 259 ENCOSTA DE LAGO / PETTA GAYE Rating: A+++, 12 SW
LOT 387 NORTHERN METEOR / VILLA VALENCIA Rating: A+++, 14 SW
OBVIOUS QUESTIONS:
So, if Dynamic purchased for syndication these 3 colts in January, why put them in a Ready To Run Sale, then not sell them, and now be syndicating them in November ???
Does it sound strange ???
As a buyer would you be sceptical ???
ANSWERS:
Dynamic Syndications had “never” offered horses in the Ready To Run Sales before. We are syndicators, not bloodstock traders. We had not considered doing it with these 3 colts either until a conversation between our horse breaker Shane Rose and ourselves early on, where we were “strongly encouraged” to keep these horse for private in house offering or alternatively, Dynamic race them ourselves without any co-owners.
The urgings were subsequently “strongly supported” by our pre-trainers who believed these 3 colts, from the time they went under saddle, were potentially way beyond average.
Shane Rose considered our draft of 2012 yearlings was the strongest we have ever brought. That makes sense, we never stop learning and reviewing our success and mistakes, eliminating flaws in the system and continuing to fine tune our processes. However we were looking to do something new, something challenging, taking risks and passing the rewards onto our clients.
So, naturally we had a dilemma, its our stated business philosophy to “never” do this because it could potentially damage our company’s goodwill in the market if clients percieved we kept the best for ourselves or only showed promising horses to a selected inner sanctum of clients and friends.
Our clients make our business the success it is. Whilst Dynamic have the knowledge and expertise to select and purchase high quality racehorses, without the support of our loyal clients who race these horses in co-ownership with us, we could never have achieved the spectacular success we have.
So a review of our position and various options gave us three pathways.
Firstly, we could do what we have always done and offered them for sale in the standard way. However we were unable to display to our clients the “reported ability” these horses had shown and whilst our clients trust our word, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to do something different. To give a visual impact. Seeing is believing !
Secondly, we had originally allocated these 3 colts to Chris Waller when we purchased them in January. We did fleeting consider putting these 3 colts into work at Rosehill with Chris and allow them to do track work and then offer these colts for sale at that point. However our clients would not be able to as easily determine how well the horses went because they had no reference point to gauge against until they barrier trialled. This would mean the horses would need to be registered and given a racing name. That takes away the enjoyment for each owner in submitting a name for consideration. Also it makes things more difficult as to when clients can determine a sale date and transfer of title along with many other administrative issues. It would also mean we were syndicating a tried horse then rather than a new horse.
Third, after speaking with some close associates and trainer Chris Waller, we elected to follow this new pathway of allowing the 3 colts to breeze up without being placed under any pressure.
Chris Waller who was in NZ with Dean will train all three colts
This was considered the perfect option. We would be able to display the 3 horse's to the public and allow these horses to breeze up without pressure and stretch out, so people could see their action and how well educated they were and how much ability they possessed. This gave clients the perfect platform to consider, not only conformation and pedigree but critically - racetrack ability. For the first time ever under the successful Dynamic Syndications banner, there was no guesswork, we had a proven product with all factors exposed.
Dynamic Syndications clients know they are buying a ready made racehorse that can run quickly !
No need worry are you buying a city class horse or a bush maiden winner ? The world can see their length of stride, their economical fluid motion, their ability to quicken, their obvious greenness (inexperience) and how much improvement they have available.
The average breeze up time was 10.85 secs for the 200m. With our 3 colts running 10.65, 10.67 and 10.63, this meant that they ran an average of 0.15 secs faster than the average of every horse that breezed up. In mathematical equations, that coverts to about 1 length faster than average. That is a huge advantage to be displaying that type of ability without being pushed out.
Our clients are now fully aware we have available 3 colts which are well above average without being pushed out. Imagine how good they will be when they are polished up to sparkle in the care of Sydney's Premier Trainer.
Another vitally important factor was that even though we had total faith in the process and were extremely confident they would be able to do what they did against the clock, we consider our clients would appreciate the most enjoyable experience; they are ready to race in a matter of just a few weeks, not long term waiting.
All three colts are Ready to Race including our Encosta De Lago - Petta Gaye colt
Plus, all the establishment costs under this arrangement have been built into the share price. Unlike when a client buys a share in a yearling, we could wait sometimes over 12 months or longer before you get to see your horse gallop, let alone get to the races. There is no guesswork or waiting here. You can see for yourself - these horses can run, you can see and hear interviews with Chris Waller, Shane Rose, Hinnerk Hueppe and most importantly Mark Treweek of Lyndhurst Farm. These men all handled various aspects as team players, of the breeze up procedure for us.
You can see the gallops, view the pictures, watch the horses being paraded and watch them going through the salering. You can read the Vet Reports including X-rays that remain 100% clean, some 10 months after these colts were originally passed for purchase as yearlings.
There is complete Full Disclosure and Transparency, we simply can't do any more !
Dynamic Syndications research shows: This style of syndication offering has never been done before in the history of syndication in Australia !
It's new, it's exciting, its a fantastic way to get into a high quality individual with above average ability the buyer can see.
You can start living the dream immediately and you will be at the races ASAP !
Scepticism: Whilst we have syndicated horses from the Ready To Run sales with success before, I along with most buyers in this format, have held sceptical views that horses offered in a RTR sale have been pushed too hard, too early and are often subjected to arthritic concussion issues in later life because vendors were only interested in getting a quick sale and not the bigger, long term picture.
Most RTR offered horses are "pin hooked" a term meaning that they have been purchased with a view of only a short term hold and then, on selling for profit, not for racing from the vendors perspective. Also, with prizemoney so good in Australia, why would vendors turn these horses over if they showed true ability. The profit to be made off the racetrack is far larger and more appealing. So sceptically, we have always been wary of the sale procedure because of a vendors motivational position.
That's why we knew if we were going to attempt this, we had to control the whole production process. We believed the best way was to take the horses to NZ to breeze up and through the ready to run process. The situation was we never contemplated that we had any intention to sell the horses. It was always our decission to pass them in and syndicate them to our clients to race in Australia.
However the differences between what Dynamic have done and what the standard vendor does is, knowing we intended to keep the horses, Lyndhurst Farm were very kind on them, ensuring they were not pushed too hard and had plenty of improvement available for when they came into work and Chris Waller would recieve a genuine clean racehorse to work with which had exposed ability. We were in control of the process every step of the way.
The obvious negative was the additional costs associated with airfreight, sale preparation and sale company costs. However we considered it a very small premium to add to the overall costs, to display to all our clients (current, old and new) the overall ability of these horses.
Also, it gave us the opportunity to allow an open market forum to value the horses through the auction process. This gave direction for the current market value and valuation for insurance purposes. This was the only way to have achieved transparency in our attempt to do this exciting new concept and control the horse husbandry aspects, giving our clients and their trainer, the best of racing opportunities.
All 3 have been paid up for BOBS and the Golden Slipper and they will be aimed to race in the Black Type lead in events over the Slipper Carnival.
Quality matters in the thoroughbred industry.
These colts have: the Type, the Pedigree and most importantly of all - displayed Ability.
When we buy a yearling, we are buying pedigree, bone, muscle and potential. Nobody who buys any yearling knows if we have brought a champion or a chump, until they do their first and second peices of fast work at the racetrack.
Here, with these 3 colts you know you are buying: pedigree, bone, muscle and Ability !
At the yearling sale auctions, if any person knew in advance how much ability an individual had, you would obviously be prepared to pay more to buy them and keep away from the slow ones.
When quality matters, consumers are always preparred to pay a slight premium to own a proven quality product.
Our motto:
“Race The Best With The Best”
Remember it costs the same to feed a slow racehorse, as it does to feed a fast one. Except a fast one will return you a lot more prizemoney ! A good racehorse has the ability to change your lifestyle.
These 3 colts have high potential to be Saturday class city horses on what they have shown our team and what you too can see.
With standard Saturday FIRST Prizemoney at $48,750 + $20,000 BOBS. That is huge return and Racing NSW and the race clubs have a desire to increase it further !
It's a lot more fun going to the races on a Saturday than to the bush.
Summation:
We have again, as Australia's racehorse syndication market leaders, decided to try something different, something new, an innovative procedure where our owners reap the rewards.
We trust our owners will embrace our concept and support us in this new style of syndication.
It's exciting, it's quick, it's quality. No guesswork. Each of the 3 horses are bred to do something different on the racetrack. They will all be aimed at the exciting 2yo races starting in February but then will go in different pathways.
The NORTHERN METEOR / VILLA VALENCIA is your traditional sprinter
The MAGIC ALBERT / BADINOV'S BABE is a 1400m – 1600m individual
The ENCOSTA DE LAGO / PETTA GAYE is our Derby contender. A middle distance horse.
The preference for purchase is purely a matter of an individual client’s dreams.
In the next few days we will be launching individual websites for each horse, along with video and audio clips, and required documentation. At that time the price will have been determined.
Don’t miss out here. If you genuienly enjoy thoroughbred racing then this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
