Newgate Farm’s dual Group 1 winner and now exciting new sire EXTREME CHOICE had a highly promising
2yo trial winner in New Zealand on Thursday at Te Teko (Rotorua) with an
unnamed two-year-old colt showing abundant natural pace to win impressively.
He is the first living foal from imported mare
Unrevealed (USA), by Forest Wildcat.
She was a four-time winning full sister to Group 3 winner Brownie Points, dam of 3 stakes winners: Synchrony, Chocolate Kisses and Point System.
He jumped smartly to lead and although wanting to lay out around the turn, he travelled strongly to the line without being pushed along, to win his 640m heat by a length on a Heavy 11 surface.
Here is the trial - He wears Orange colours:

The colt was an
$85,000 NZ Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 buy from the Ainsley Downs Stud draft and had been a pinhook as a weanling from the Newgate Stud draft at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale for $65,000.
Unfortunately, Extreme Choice had major fertility issues in his first season and that has limited him to just 48 live foals (now two-year-olds) to represent him.
EXTREME CHOICE - Sire
However, if they take after their speed sire, it will be no surprise to see him make his mark despite his lack of numbers in comparison to his first crop sire peers.
Team Dynamic purchased a lovely filly at the Magic Millions this year by Extreme Choice, so we are delighted to see his first youngster step out so well in this trial.
Our Filly - EXTREME CHOICE x ENCOSTA JEWEL
Our filly was Lot 276 from the Encosta de Lago mare ENCOSTA JEWEL – a 1200m Winner at 2.
MISS FANTABULOUS
Encosta Jewel is a 3/4 sister to Gr2 and Listed winner MISS FANTABULOUS.
SUPER ELEGANT
Encosta Jewel is a daughter of Elegant Jewel – a full sister to dual Gr1 Winner SUPER ELEGANT, also Gr2 Winner ELEGANCY and Gr3 Winner MISTER ELEGANT.
The big enticement to us about this filly, apart from the scarcity of progeny by the brilliantly quick 2yo and 3yo first crop sire, was that when we did our genetic ratings, this filly was rated
the best mated yearling by the sire.
Genetically,
Not A Single Doubt over Encosta de Lago mares is an A+++ pedigree rating and specifically in the Southern Hemisphere its an
A+++ score.
It has produced
3 Stakes Winners to date:
MIGHTY BOSS 2014 Gr1, CLASSIQUE LEGEND Gr2 and NOT A SINGLE CENT Gr2.
When we purchase yearlings by first season sires, we want to have all the
boxes ticked.
