5 starts for 2 wins is impressive no matter how you look at it. However what is remarkable about our mare
ALWAYS FLUSHED efforts is that she was long odds that she would ever race after suffering major bone chips in both knees but good horse husbandry and management set about resurrecting our horse that had shown ability in training but was off too the surgeon before her first race start.
With the vet at the time not prepared to give any encouragement of a positive return, the prognosis for the future was guarded to poor.
After many months of rehab, the team at Dynamic convinced the owners to send
ALWAYS FLUSHED to Barbara Joseph & Paul Jones at Canberra based on their excellent attention to detail and horse care.
In her first preparation she had 3 starts
winning on debut before two unplaced runs and a spell. She came back and was backed into favourite but was just a fraction short on fitness when beaten less than a length at Canberra.
At her second start at the Sapphire Coast on Friday, ALWAYS FLUSHED was sent out an odds-on favourite and carried the tag of "Best Bet of the Day" and she didn't let her supports down when taking out race 2, the H & E Lucas Backhoe Hire & Dax Kelly Builder Class 1 Hcp 1000m.
Always Flushed winning her second race on Friday 31-3 at the Sapphire Coast
Ridden by Brodie Loy, the mare jumped cleanly from barrier 2 and went forward to sit at the girth of the leader before being joined by an inexperienced 4.0kg claiming apprentice, sitting 3 deep on speed and who was unable to control her mount, bumping and laying in on our mare until the home turn. They trio had set a quick tempo which put
Always Flush under pressure. As they straightened Brodie pushed the go button and sprinted 2 lengths in front whilst the other two that had pressured our mare, quickly dropped off.
Always Flushed was very strong to the final 50m where the early hard work started to tell and she began to tire but had enough in hand to maintain a lead and score by a Long Neck x Short Neck on the rain affected track running a slick 58.75 secs.
Considering the massive workload early and being second up, ALWAYS FLUSHED put in a super effort.
Congratulations to the loyal team of Dynamic Owners who race ALWAYS FLUSHED: Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr A Isgro, Mr B C Eastburn, Mr A J Mears, Mr J Yianni, Mr R Plant, Mr M Weisz, Mr M O Hobson, Mr H J Bonilla, Mr V Barry, Mr O M Barry, Mrs G M Gammage, Mr J P Keeley, Mr B Michalski, Mr A G Summerville, Mr W E Muller, Mr N D Loader, De Launey Racing
The win by ALWAYS FLUSHED was Dynamic Syndications 480th win by our horses since October 2015 and our 17th win of the season.
Also the win by ALWAYS FLUSHED was significant for trainers Barbara & Paul. During the week the training duo opened a stable on course at the Sapphire Coast and Always Flushed was the first horse to be taken into the complex and boxed. She was also the first horse to race from the new stables and as history shows, ALWAYS FLUSHED was the first winner from the new complex.
Should Barbara and Paul now call the new complex "ALWAYS FLUSHED LODGE" ?
