Cox Plate Weekend - Where has 10 Years Gone ?
It was 10 years ago this Saturday was a bucket list moment.
One of many thrills in racing that
Dynamic Syndications boss Dean Watt has experienced in his career was achieved when, along with an assembled group of clients, they led in their
Cox Plate Winning 3yo colt SAVABEEL (Zabeel ex Savannah Success) with Chris Munce in the saddle.
The Cox Plate is for the racing purists, the Weight For Age Championship of Australia.
We had done it !
We had – " WON IT ! "
Savabeel’s ownership team had taken a yearling colt, plucked from the
Magic Millions Sales and turned him into a legend.
Savabeel has gone on to create his own dynasty at stud, as one of the leading sires of NZ standing at Waikato Stud.
He is the sire of 253 Winners, 33 Stakes Winners and 16 Stakes Placed.
There is not one industry participant who hasn’t dreamt of winning the
COX PLATE.
Every owner, trainer and jockey has dreamt of having a magnificent Silver Tray in their trophy cabinet.
This renewal of the
Cox Plate will mark the
10th anniversary of Savabeel’s wonderful victory.
However whilst it’s always nice to reflect upon past achievements, the fact remains next year and the year after and the year after that and so on, there will be more renewals of the
Cox Plate.
Dean has a deep desire to be standing there again over the next few years, allowing this emotion to wash over a new team of owners, so they too may
“Live The Dream” and enjoy the wonderful experience.
However
the future belongs to those who plan for it. It won’t happen unless you develop the plans and lay the foundation to make it happen – just as the owners of Savabeel did.
To start with you have to have a terrific type of equine athlete, capable of becoming a top class racehorse based upon, size, strength and overall conformational structure.
+
Next the horse must have the genetic balance (sireline over broodmare sireline) to make it happen.
+
Then add in a colt, by a stallion capable of siring horses good enough to have won the race in the past.
+
Next add in a female pedigree rich in stakes class horses, that have competed and performed at Group 1 level.
+
Now add to the equation the most essential element. Bring in a highly successful trainer with the proven ability of producing a winner or multiple winners in the great race.
=
At least that is the start of a plan to achieve racetrack greatness.
Whilst all this is no guarantee of success, at least
the odds have been heavily stacked in your favour.
Dynamic Syndications have purchased
a high quality colt based upon the winning formula above to give our clients every opportunity to experience this wonderful race.
We have given the colt to
CUPS KING – Bart Cummings and James Cummings Training Partnership.
Bart Cummings has won 5 Cox Plates – 2 with SO YOU THINK (by High Chaparral) the same sire as our colt.
Our colt is a half-brother to 5 winners including a
Stakes Winning, Group 1 placed horse.
Our colt’s Dam is a Sydney Winning half-sister to a
Group 2 Winner and she’s the Dam of a Group 1 Winner.
However we only have
10% remaining.
We are currently at
90% sold with 2 x 5% shares at $7,225 per share with ongoing costs averaging less than $7.00 per day.
