March to the Grand Final
The competition commenced for
Sydney FC on the 8th October and they stamped themselves as the team to beat that weekend when smashing four goals past the Wanderers and this form continued all season with the
Sky Blues becoming the Hyundai A-League's most prolific side.
Sydney FC averaged over two goals per game across their entire campaign.
Brazilian
Bobô scored his debut goal in the Derby and was consistent all season, netting 15 times.
Skipper
Alex Brosque rolled back the years and enjoyed a superb goal-scoring season in the Hyundai A-League with 11.
And Slovakian striker
Filip Holosko has chipped in with eight goals.
The supply line to that trio came largely from the favourite for this season's Johnny Warren Medal,
Milos Ninkovic, the Serbian playmaker has been simply sublime, contributing ten assists as well as nine goals of his own.
He was assisted by the brilliance of the youthful midfield pair
Josh Brillante and
Brandon O'Neill.
The
Sydney FC defence has been rock solid led by
Alex Wilkinson in the centre and incredibly well supported by the athletic
Ryan Grant and
Michael Zullo who put their team on attack with countless runs from the back and submitting brilliant crosses.
Then between the posts was
Danny Vukovic arguably the best A-League goalkeeper of all time.
