The
terrific trinity of
Trainer / Jockey / Racing Manger were at the forefront again of
another successful Sunday for
Dynamic Syndications, when our galloper
FRENZIED (Americain / Paris Tryst) produced a tremendous win in the
Carlton Draught Wyong Cup Prelude Benchmark 68 over 2100m in a time of 2:13.04 coming home in a
slick 34.04 secs the last 600m which was low flying for a staying race and by far the fastest last 600m of the day.
Mathematically, those chasing us over the last 600m simply could not physically run fast enough to reel in
FRENZIED such was the brilliance of the ride by Nash. In fact, the closest event to us on the day was the 1000m sprint and they ran home in 34.34 secs.
FRENZIED ($2.0 fav) defeated Prince of Arragon ($2.60) by 0.41 length with another 2.73 lengths further back to Itsa Fait Accompli ($61) in third.
When
Gai and Adrian aim any
Dynamic Syndications horse on a targeted pathway, there is not a better training partnership to deliver us a
successful result and achieve our owner’s dreams of
racetrack success.
Add in the
incredible talent of Nash Rawiller, a jockey at the peak of his career, riding in superb touch and a rider who is prepared to work within a
team relationship, rather than their own agenda’s, then that is also a major recipe for success.
Then another important aspect is to have
Adam Watt at
Dynamic Syndications micro-manage the horse as part of our
management role to identify a programme and place the horse into a race where it can be super competitive, at a weight that will allow the horse to be fairly treated against its peers. Then Adam books the jockey well before nominations close, so our owners get the best rider available upon their horse.
Add in the often-forgotten but vital team member being our
expert veterinarian team of Centennial Park Vet Practice (Tim, Gary and Laura) that at our request turn up every day to work
only on the
Dynamic Syndications horses at Tulloch Lodge, ensuring no stone is left unturned, then we have
micro-managed four pillars to
build success.
FRENZIED and our Owners are the beneficiaries of this successful alliance.
Facing the starter for just the third time this preparation, our promising staying prospect has taken his tally to
14 starts: 4 Wins, 0 Seconds, 2 Thirds and $91,820.
He has won at
1560m 1600m, 2000m, 2100m.
Bred to stick like chewing gum to a blanket, he is a son of
Melbourne Cup Winner Americain from a daughter of a
Melbourne Cup Winner Let’s Elope.
This preparation
FRENZIED resumed over 1500m before being the best of good things beaten second up over 1875m at Newcastle when 4th carrying 60.5kgs beaten 1.3 lengths after being trapped wide without cover the whole trip under this big weight.
Stripping fitter into this event and out at a trip that was always going to suit us, he looked ideally placed here, especially dropping back 1.5kgs from the previous run.
There were several scratchings in this event and the field dropped back to only 5 runners. However, whilst we were not concerned that the scratchings had the ability to beat us home, what they did was take the tempo out of the race. With the 5 runners remaining all being back markers we felt it was important not to be chasing carrying 59.0kgs and giving big weight away to his peers in what would turn into a sit and sprint affair.
So, we devised a plan to lead.
FRENZIED is traditionally a get-back horse, but
nobody judges pace from the front better than Nash Rawiller.
We asked Nash to drive
FRENZIED from the barriers as best he could from the barriers and get as far forward as possible as we passed the winning post the first time and then control the race from the front.
I
t was a masterclass of tactical riding and judgement of speed.
Nash had to get
FRENZIED going along at a comfortable tempo and then click-up to put those under pressure chasing him.
Then we wanted to kick off the home turn and trust in the system of the
Waterhouse & Bott “Bone and Muscle” to carry the weight and doing the work, to get those chasing with the big pull in weighs unable to counter us.
It was an
11 out of 10 ride by Nash and that’s why we put the best onto our horses. Their rides can often win the race for you.
However Nash can’t get off and carry them, he has to have the horse underneath him in the first instance and
none are better than Gai and Adrian at bringing a horse to an assignment when they have had the time to aim at a target.
Job Done!
FRENZIED looked a
class above his rivals in the parade and
Nash followed our request perfectly, getting our horse to the front after 100m and then, dictating from the front, slowing the tempo then quickening up before slowing again and then, as they approached the 500m mark asking
FRENZIED to extend. The muddling tempo got those chasing off the bit and out of their comfort zones.
There is no doubt that we were in the right race, with the right tactics, with a drop in weight, and extra fitness, plus extra distance with a horse that has obvious ability and whom was produced fit and well on the day.
A wonderful team effort that delivered our loyal Dynamic Owners an excellent reward with a big result.
It was no fluke - It was an expected result and he was backed into being favourite. We would have been disappointed with so many boxes ticked, if we didn’t get the winning result for our Owners.
CONGRATULATIONS to our Ownership Team that race FRENZIED: Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr K L Bamford, Mrs C O Bamford, Mr S J Koukoulas, Mr N B Patterson, Mr C A Clark, Mr D T Warburton, Mrs K Tew, Ms P L Leeper, Mr J R Screnci, Mr A Pino, Mr S J Hodder, Mr C Melham, Mr J P Maxwell, Mr S R Minahan, Dynamic No 47, Dynamic No 48, Dynamic No 49, Ms S Kemsley, Mrs R J Watkins

This win would be also
very satisfying for co-owner and breeder Mrs Colleen Bamford who owns
Daisy Hill Stud Farm in Victoria. The Bamford’s owned and raced Americain to win the Melbourne Cup and they bred
FRENZIED and liked him so much as a yearling that they purchased back into the horse to race him with us.
This win was
Dynamic Syndications 10th Win for the month of August, a wonderful way to start the new racing season and became our
664th Race Win overall.
Whilst the winner of the Wyong Cup Prelude is exempt from ballot for the Wyong Cup, we have elected to sidestep the Cup.
We have laid the foundations and our horse is now ready to embark on a nice programme.
There are two enticing city races coming up where
FRENZIED looks to be ideally placed and he will be better suited under Benchmark conditions.
Onwards and Upwards !
