Tassort
gave his sire Brazen Beau his first racetrack success in the Golden Gift at Rosehill.
Tassort winning at Rosehill on debut
He is a sibling to Godolphin's Group One winners Astern and Alizee.
His dominant debut win in the $150,000 race over 1100m has also elevated him to the top of the TAB's early Golden Slipper market at $11.
Godolphin trainer James Cummings said the colt had been on an upward curve in his work and would now be given a break with the autumn races in mind.
"The horse has been such a relaxed customer up until the point when some pressure started being put on a month ago," Cummings said.
"It is no doubt this race had a lot of build-up and he did well to pull away."
Cardiff was the favourite after two barrier trial wins.
Spaceboy (by Deep Field) led the field but when James McDonald asked Tassort to step up a gear in the straight, the colt grabbed Spaceboy who was out of petrol having led at a fast clip, and this allowed Tassort to draw away.
Jonah was a short half head further behind the runner-up.
While Godolphin has a wealth of stallions and juveniles, Cummings said Tassort had now obviously set the standard.
"He will be the benchmark for the stable's other young performers," he said.
"He's an exciting one to be put away now and prepared for next year."
First crop sire Brazen Beau had won the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap and also finished second in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Dynamic Syndications purchased a lovely filly by Brazen Beau earlier this year from the mare Plastic Fantastic.
She was syndicated around trainer Mick Price at Caulfield and was sold out earlier in the year.
She has been given a brilliant racing name.
She is called
