The running of the
Gr1 Rosehill Guineas on Saturday saw the race go to the
Kiwi GINGERNUTS in a quality display. The winner had just arrived in Australia after
winning the NZ Derby over 2400m so was rock hard fit coming back to the 2000m of the Rosehill Guineas.
However as good a win as it was, there is little doubt the run of the race was that of super impressive
SO SI BON who is on target to have a crack at the
ATC Derby having run
4th in the VRC Derby in the Spring.
So Si Bon was desperately unlucky on the bottomless surface.
The Stewards Report reads –
“raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide without cover from the 1000m. Near the 350m Gingernuts and So Si Bon made contact."
On a path to the Derby,
SO SI BON was facing the starter for just the third time this preparation so was giving away a lot in fitness to the winner who had a charmed run.
He has raced over an unsuitable 1200m against the older horses up the straight at Flemington.
Then he ran in the Caulfield Guineas over 1600m where he got back and ran home ok.
However that was well short of peak fitness for a Gr1 2000m on a bottomless bog that was served up on Saturday.
The fact was that
SO SI BON hit the line so well having had such a torrid run over racing and covering all that extra ground.
Previously
SO SI BON had run 4th in the VRC Derby Gr1 but now adds in a Gr1 placing to the pedigree.
That’s fabulous news to Dynamic Syndications.
At the 2017 Magic Millions Sales on the Gold Coast we purchased
LOT 1 a fantastic filly by PIERRO x FAITH HILL.
She is a half sister to
multiple STAKES WINNER BLACK MINX.
SO SI BON
SO SI BON is a son of BLACK MINX a winner of
5 races at 2 including Two Stakes Wins.
BLACK MINX (dam of SO SI BON)
BLACK MINX is the ½ sister to the yearling we purchased by PIERRO from the mare FAITH HILL a Gr2 Winner herself.
This was the
second addition of close up Black Type added to our fillies pedigree since we purchased her.
FAITH'S ENCORE
The other was
FAITH’S ENCORE who ran
4th in the ATC Fireball Stakes LR 1100m.
As the family continues to improve in Black Type and as PIERRO continues to lead the first season sires list, each day our yearling filly continues to grow in value.
