OPEN LETTER TO ALL DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS CLIENTS, FRIENDS, FOLLOWERS and SUPPORTERS
The team at
Dynamic Syndications are delighted advise that over the past week, we became fully reserved in our recent two promotions:
# 16 our REWARD FOR EFFORT / FAIRY RAINBEAM colt with MICK PRICE and
# 17 our HIGH CHAPARRAL / QUEEN’S SUITE colt with BART & JAMES CUMMINGS.
As a result, that concluded the horses we selected and purchased for promotion in 2014.
That’s fantastic from our position and highlights the strength in the market and in our own brand.
However this unfortunately can be a two edged sword.
Whilst it’s fantastic to be
SOLD OUT of the 17 syndications (340 Shares) in 2014 by early
NOVEMBER, it brings its own set of difficulties.
We are a 24 hour - 7 day a week business.
The yearling sales don’t commence until mid-January on the Gold Coast and by the time we purchase yearlings, then create all our documentation and submit this to the Lead Regulators and have them approved, then make the websites and advertising, we will not have anything to offer to our clients and to the public for about 3 months.
This is far too long for such a vibrant and robust business as Dynamic Syndications to be without High Quality stock for our clients.
FULL DISCLOSURE:
Earlier in the year, we purchased a colt we specifically wanted to
retain ownership and race outright.
He was a fantastic type, strong and correct by
Champion sire - COMMANDS.
We had decided to retain this colt with the view to race him ourselves however our business is syndicating horses to our clients, not racing them ourselves.
We are an online 24 / 7 business, we simply can’t go 3 months without a High Quality racing prospect available for our clients to become involved with.
Therefore due to these circumstances, we advise that we will be putting this very special colt to the market for syndication.
However we do declare to all potential clients that Dynamic Syndications will be retaining equity in this colt.
He was a fantastic type, strong and correct by
Champion sire - COMMANDS.
We love the
COMMANDS breed but unfortunately the super sire passed away earlier this year so there is only this crop and next year’s crop to go. They are not making any more of them.
It’s sad because he was truly a magnificent sire.
On three occasions he was the
Champion Australian Sire of Winners and set a new Australian record of 155 individual Winners in a Season.
He has an incredibly high
71.0% Runners : Winners ratio and a 91.2% Runners Earners ratio. He has sired
112 Stakes Horses, 9 Gr1 Winners and massive earnings of over
$87 million. He was a Top 10 Sire in Australia for 10 Seasons in a row and the leading sire of winners in Australia 4 of the past 5 seasons.
The colt we brought is the first foal from
MEZMAR - a Sydney class, winner of 5 Races from 900m – 1450m.
MEZMAR is a half-sister to SW DORF COMMAND.
Importantly, this colt is the first foal of
MEZMAR and being by
COMMANDS (now deceased) he will be the
ONLY ¾ relation in existence, to high quality racehorse
DORF COMMAND.

This colt had a great pedigree for a colt by
COMMANDS (a son of Danehill) from a Marscay > Biscay line broodmare.
That Danehill / Biscay cross has produced 115 Stakes Winners including 14 Gr1 Winners, whilst the COMMANDS / MARSCAY cross has produced 12 Stakes Winners including Gr1 Winners PARATROOPERS and UNDUE whilst teh extended Danehill / Marscay has produced 27 Stakes Winners inc CATBIRD, ELVSTROEM, MR MURPHY, and CAMARENA.
This rated an
A, 300% Cross and most importantly, it received a
BEST OF SALE Rating as well.
We also had our vet go over him from head to toe and had all the x-rays read and had him scoped.
He was 100% clean and right.
We had decided to retain this colt with the view to race him ourselves however our business is syndicating horses to our clients, not racing them ourselves.
This is especially true when
we are an online 24 / 7 business, we can’t go 3 months with nothing to promote and syndicate.
However we do declare to potential clients that Dynamic Syndications will be retaining equity in this colt.
At the Australian Easter Yearling Sales this year, we had done our homework and came out Dux on
lot 547.
This
COMMANDS / MEZMAR colt after sale
scratchings was in the last couple of lots to be sold.
We have purchased yearlings with success in the past from the vendor, Mr. John North owner of
BOWNESS STUD and we knew before inspecting the colt that it was one of several
FOAL SHARES Darley Stud had done in 2011, the year the colt was conceived.
The contractual rules with FOAL SHARES are they must be offered for UNRESERVED SALE.
This always gives the buyer a huge advantage that they are not competing with the vendor to a reserve price.
The yearlings are on the market from the opening bid.
It’s also a huge advantage with colts because stud farms do not retain colts as their core business is breeding horses, not buying colts to race.
It was for genuine sale.
Knowing it was a foal share, I put my
Bloodstock Agents hat on and did a market valuation on the colt. Having all the facts and taking into account it was a foal share, and it was at the end of the sale, and then having applied my valuation formulas, it was determined this colt was worth
$60-$65,000.
We knew I was not purchasing him as a 2yo prospect. He was always being viewed as a 3yo and older sprinter / miler. It was always our view that the colt would need time to develop as the
COMMANDS progeny are 3yo and older, tough, strong, tradesmen type horses and his dam won her races as a 3yo and 4yo.
By the time the second last lot rolled around, buyers had done their purchasing and most had either headed to the bar or headed home. Night had fallen, it was raining heavily and it was cold. Winter had arrived. So when the colt finally went to through the ring, there was hardly a soul left in or around the sale ring.
We got into a brief bidding war early but it ended abruptly, with
Dynamic Syndications sitting on a top bid at $30,000 + GST that was not countered. The colt was knocked down to us at half the price we had been prepared to go to.
This was one of the Ned Kelly pinches of the year. Arguably one of the top value buys of the
18 horses we purchased in 2014.
Hence why we were keen to retain the colt as trading or racing stock.
But fate works in mysterious ways.
We certainly had not contemplated running out of sale stock by so early in November.
This colt has broken-in as good as we could have ever hoped. He was strong, correct, a free moving individual with excellent gait and action flow. He moved effortlessly and was quick to learn. He did everything right.
He has been in and out of pre-training and has grown and strengthened significantly since being purchased.
Therefore we have elected to offer the horse for sale as our 18th and FINAL promotion in 2014.
A few days ago we put in a PDS to Racing NSW and allocated the colt to
GERALD RYAN to train for us at Rosehill.
With all the holding costs, race series pay ups, insurances, breaking-in, agistment, pre-training, transport, etc., etc. since April and we budgeted the costs out to 31 December, we are delighted to have the value of the
5% share come in at just
$4,750.
In the immediate future I will be putting up a website for the colt.
He represents great value and should give us a terrific sight as a racing prospect.
We are ending the year with a BANG – Not a whimper !
We have a cracking colt with a top bloke and an even better trainer, by a champion stallion, from a high quality racemare and the colt’s a ¾ brother to an exceptionally gifted racehorse.
Importantly he represents brilliant value at only $4,318 + $432 GST = $4,750 per 5% Share.
This colt is now back in pre-training at Wild Oaks and will have a few more weeks pre-training before heading into Rosehill for a look around.
Gerald is an exceptional trainer, especially of
colts and has had a lot of luck with the Commands breed. He’s trained a
Stakes Winner and multiple Stakes Placed horses by COMMANDS.
There are so many races available to high quality Sprinter / Milers and this colt is conformationally and genetically in the forefront of horses capable of being a superior athlete.
Add in a 100% clean vet certificate and prior knowledge how well the colt broke in, we are delighted to share this colt with our loyal client base.
At this price, and with Christmas around the corner, he would also make an ideal gift to a special someone too !
Check out his website when it goes online, I know you will be as impressed with this colt !
We welcome any inquiry about him and truly hope you join us in racing him.
Best Regards, Good Luck and Thanks,
Dynamic Syndications Team.
