As they say: “Patience is a Virtue” and the owners of exciting 3yo filly MORE TO IT deserve the best wrap anybody in racing can give them because their patience with this filly was certainly tested but they hung in their with loyalty and their patience was rewarded.
MORE TO IT at the Yearling Sales
MORE TO IT is a superb looking filly by outstanding stallion MORE THAN READY from the Flying Spur mare SONNY AND SPUR. The cross is one of the best in the stud book with 7 stakes winners by More Than Ready from Flying Spur mares including: Sebring, Raceway, Proliferate, Hot ‘n’ Ready, Cambasio and Ashokan.
MORE TO IT won on debut Race 2, the Markey Insurance Maiden Hcp, 1000m for Trainer Darren Smith and Jockey Robert Thompson. She was Number 3, Drew Barrier 3 and carried 56.0kgs giving weight to both her male placegetters.
MORE TO IT was solid in betting being backed in late from $5.00 into $4.60 with the corporate’s and started $5.00 equal favourite on course.
MORE TO IT was purchased from the
Magic Millions Sales for just $40,000 + GST from the draft of leading Hunter Valley Stud
EMIRATES PARK. The win of MORE TO IT continues the wonderful winning strike rate and close friendship between Emirates Park Stud and Dynamic Syndications.
MORE TO IT
MORE TO IT never gave her supporters any concern where she jumped away like “Zoom Top” and led from barriers to finishing post. It was a total demolition of the field as the further they went the further she was in front.
MORE TO IT - Wins with ease !
The Margin was an eased up 3.3 lengths to Natural Grey (2nd) x 4 lengths to Shotaway (3rd) with another 2 lengths back to Valiant Charger (4th) on a Slow 6 rated track, running a slick 58.30 secs. Robert Thompson rode the filly perfectly to instruction. The plan was to go forward and keep out of trouble. Then establish a break and give her a few soft sectionals before kicking away in the straight. Everything in running went to plan and the filly showed her class.
Those owners that stayed loyal and in the ownership of More To It, deserve a big wrap as mentioned above, for their patience. This filly had always shown above average ability but kept going shinsore or getting viruses, etc.
However those having faith in our judgement and the words of encouragement from Darren Smith, despite the obvious disappointments, the filly showed the industry what she can do with this awesome win.
This was the second winner Darren has trained for Team Dynamic in 5 days with the outstanding maiden win of Curfew by 6.5 lengths 5 days earlier, that’s 2 horses to have won by a combined total of 10 lengths !
Darren Smith’s running total of race wins for Dynamic Syndications is now 83.
