Congratulations to our Dynamic Owners of the cleverly named 3yo filly WEDGIE (Foxwedge x Undercover) who made her peers "feel significant discomfort" when she scored an impressive win when leading all the way at Kembla Grange for our trainers GAI WATERHOUSE and ADRIAN BOTT.
WEDGIE won Race 5 the Dominic Bradley F&M Maiden Hcp 1400m.
Special mention to rider Corey Brown who followed Gai & Adrian’s instructions perfectly and allowed WEDGIE to take up the lead as soon as they jumped and rated our filly perfectly in front. Wedgie got away with soft sectionals early, then increased the tempo from the 600m to slip home in a slick 33.35 secs to mathematically deny her peers any chance of running her down.
WEDGIE was never headed and Corey Brown had the race in his control every step of the way to score by 0.8 lengths x 0.5 lengths.
It’s terrific when a plan comes together and special mention of the Gai Waterhouse
“bone and muscle” which was evident here as
WEDGIE looked immaculate in the parade ring and raced accordingly.
Corey Brown was complementary of the filly upon his return and believed she has several wins ahead of her and she would be capable of progressing to city class without any issues.
Promisingly, it appears that the daughter of Newgate Farms quality sire
FOXWEDGE may find 1600m more to her liking than the 1400m first up in this event.
WEDGIE had put the flashing lights up with two good trials leading into this event over 740m then 1050m and it was good placement by Gai and Adrian to go to the 1400m trip first up.
Last preparation
WEDGIE raced once when leading but dropped out and pulled up distressed and needed time to get over injury.
The team at the Waterhouse stable have done a top job with the filly and she rewarded her owners with this promising win.
Well done to her OWNERS: Dynamic Syndications Racing, Mr B Winnett, Mr T Tasker, Mrs C A Irwin, Mr I Kolega, Mr R Sawkins, Mrs K E Sinclair, Mrs B Hobson, Mr R A Elliott, Mr D Purkiss, Mr L Szancer, Mr K Cross, Mr B G Dan, Mr L Pedrola, Mr J McEwen, Mrs A Blackmore, Mr N A Heap, Two Socks Racing.
It’s been a good two days for Team Dynamic as WEDGIE’s win brought up a “Hat-trick” of wins complimenting the day before efforts with ABERRATION and RESORT along with buying a sensational son of SAVABEEL at the NZ Yearling Sales.
The Current racing season is now at the half-way point (26 weeks) and WEDGIE became our 32nd Race Win of the Racing Season.
She also became our 519th Race Win overall since October 2005.
WEDGIE is our 183rd Individual Winner from 195 Individual Runners – an amazing 93.8% our horses we have purchased that have raced - have won !
Congratulations everyone involved on this fantastic record.
