Wow what a start to the 2012 New Year. The Winner's Keep on Rolling ! Dynamic Duo juggernaut (Trainer Darren Smith and Dynamic Syndications) teamed up again on Tuesday at Taree with promising middle distance candidate HEAPS MORE (Al Maher / Cumulous) to record a dominant win and break her Maiden over 1600m third up this preparation, for the all conquering Darren Smith stables.
Hot on the heels of Gallant Spur's win at Port Macquarie on Sunday, then backed up by ATOMIC FORCE winning the Gr1 Railway Stakes in NZ, then we went to Warwick Farm with Midnight At Ascot on Monday and he ran a gutsy close up third resuming over an unsuitable short trip.
However despite that miss, on Tuesday afternoon the team was back in the winner's circle again when favourite HEAPS MORE ridden perfectly by the district's champion rider Robert Thompson, gave nothing else a chance, winning with ease at the 1600m trip.
This was the Dynamic Duo's 3rd win in 3 days. And our 4th win in 11 days as a team. Dynamic Syndications also won on New Year's Eve with Platamone Castle trained by Mick Price, Trick Shot trained by Chris Waller won on the Randwick transferred meeting to Kembla on 28/12 whilst Gallant Spur won at Kembla on Christmas Eve.
That's 6 wins over the Christmas New Year break.
HEAPS MORE became our 35th win for the current 2011-12 Racing Season and our 267th win under our Dynamic Syndications Banner since October 2005.
HEAPS MORE breaking this maiden became our 102nd individual winner from 126 starters (81%).
The mare had been disappointing at her first preparation and spelled after 2 runs. She was sent up to Darren after a spell and she put the writing on the wall when first up for her new trainer when she worked home well but couldn't sprint when 2.9 lengths 5th at Taree over 1262m. Then second up on 20/12 was an eye catching run when 1.3 x nose 3rd over 1400m at Tamworth.
The mare built her foundation nicely and Tuesday she was third up this prep and at a more suitable distance, the 3yo filly was too good scoring by 1.8 lens x 0.2 lens in The Little Favourite Cafe Maiden Set Weights 1600m. It's always a good sign when a 3yo filly can win at this distance over the older boys and girls.
She will be competitive against her own sex when the trips get longer.
Darren feels the mare still has several lengths improvement in her and will strip a lot fitter yet.
Credit to our jockey Robert Thompson who rode her with an 11 out of 10 ride. Jumping away quickly the mare settled on the speed in the centre of the ruck after the first 50m but there was a line across the track so Robert took hold and eased from the speed and came back a length and a half and then angled over to the fence getting a beautiful trail 3 pairs back on the fence with cover. Then as they started to bunch approaching the turn the field in front fanned leaving a beautiful trail on the paint. She was allowed rein and she zipped up into second and then came off the fence from behind the leader and quickly moved up and eye balled hit for a couple of strides and then Robert drove her to the line. She responded well and gained the upper hand quickly and gave nothing else a chance winning going away.
That's why at these meetings it is such an advantage to have the skill set and wisdom of experienced top class riders. They can make such a big difference.
Well Done to the team that race this filly: A Beaton, J Procko, Mrs M Frazer, W Hunter, P Dugan, M Grogan, R Robinson, S Najdecki & Jigsaw No 5 Synd.
