The most expensive broodmare ever sold at public auction in Australia is the dam of a very smart three year-old filly who is on target for the
Group 1 Irish Oaks next month.
PRETTY PERFECT
Three year-old Galileo filly PRETTY PERFECT had previously scored a
Listed Race win last month before finishing mystifying unplaced finish in the
Group 1 Irish Thousand Guineas.
Prepared by Aidan O’Brien, she bounced back to score a runaway four length win in the Group 3 Munster Oaks at Cork over 1m 4f, this is her third win from six starts.
"She ran very badly in the Guineas, which threw us, but she clearly stays very well and that was more like her Navan performance. We´ll have to think of the Irish Oaks now,” said Aidan O´Brien.
Milanova has had six named foals, four have raced and three are winners, the last two both conceived in Ireland, following her first four years at stud in Australia.
Milanova
Milanova was bought by Coolmore for $5million at the 2008 Inglis Broodmare Sale from a dispersal of Tyreel Stud stock and was immediately sent back to the Northern Hemisphere.
A Group 3 winning daughter of champion sire Danehill from the family of champion sires Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur, Milanova is a full sister to dual Group 1 winner and successful sire Holy Roman Emperor (IRE), best known here as the sire of Caulfield Cup / Australian Derby hero Mongolian Khan.
Holy Roman Emperor is back in Australia this spring, but has been switched to Aquis Farm in Queensland where he will stand at a fee of $9,900.
Milanova has two daughters at stud in Australia in Evolve and Pretty Flamingo, so their owners will follow the progress of Pretty Perfect with great interest.
Dynamic Syndications purchased the first 2 foals from Pretty Flamingo. The first was a daughter by Encosta De Lago named
LAGONDA who won 2 races at 1600m and 2000m.
LAGONDA
She was retired and sold 2 weeks ago at the Magic Millions Breeding Stock sale for $100,000. The buyer was Aquis Farm who as highlighted above will be standing close relation Holy Roman Emperor.
We also have talented 3yo filly TICKLED PINK by Fastnet Rock.
Randwick Trial Winner
She is a magnificent type and has shown great upside and the owners are hopeful of a good preparation ahead of them.
