From Racenet:
An impressive Warwick Farm maiden win by Made To Order has added further strength to premier trainer Chris Waller’s 2014 assault on the rich Australian Oaks at Randwick in April.
Waller, who won the Australian Oaks last year with Royal Descent, said he currently has as many as four candidates for next year’s fillies classic which on Tuesday was officially increased to a $1 million race as part of ‘The Championships’.
Waller identified Royal Descent’s sister Chateau Lafaite, Melbourne Cup carnival winner Marmelo, Define and Made To Order as his early ammunition for the Group I feature.
Made To Order was partnered to her victory in the Big Sports Breakfast Handicap (1400m) by champion Sydney rider Nash Rawiller who endorsed Waller’s thoughts of the daughter of Commands.
"Top drawer, very relaxed, probably at the top grade she will want the ground. It took me the whole way to get her to travel and the pleasing part was the last furlong,” he said.
"I’d be setting her for the Oaks, and I think she will be taking them a long way to it.”
Made To Order ($1.60 fav) box-seated behind the speed before careering away late to record a 2-1/2 length win over the Guy Walter-trained Buon Aspicio ($12) with the runner-up’s stablemate Water Kiss ($16) a further short-neck away in third.
Waller was full of praise for Made To Order’s win and said the filly will have one more run before being given a break ahead of her autumn campaign.
"She’s an autumn horse, when you’re talking about a $1 million Oaks and the right lead-ups then you have got to have a think about it,” he said.
"She’s got the goods, that’s for sure. She’s a serious horse.”
