Leading trainers
CHRIS WALLER and
MICK PRICE will have
Dynamic Syndications runners engaged on Saturday and all look to have been well placed. With just average racing luck, each looks capable of being very competitive and finishing in the mix.
CHRIS WALLER has both
MADE TO ORDER and
PERPLEXITY engaged whilst Mick Price has
HIRAD.
At Randwick on the Kensington track, we will see two Dynamic runners compete for our trainer
CHRIS WALLER.
MADE TO ORDER (a current dual acceptor) will head around in race 2 the
1550m event and will be scratched from the 1300m race. This looks a nice progression step for our 3yo filly who is still learning about racecraft, despite an easy win at Warwick Farm last start.
A very unlucky run on debut which saw her badly held up and blocked for a run several times at Kembla on debut when running a close up 2nd had put the writing on the wall that the filly had serious upside.
Then at her second start she was a touch slow away and then followed the speed until straightening before unleashing a powerful sprint from the 350m to round up her opponents and go on to score by an ever increasing 2.5 length margin carrying 59.0kgs. The run was even more meritorious considering the saddle slipped early and her rider Nash Rawiller was inconvenienced throughout the run.
At Randwick she drops back to just 54.5 kgs, only half over the limit and looks well placed in a field of just 6 runners with Tim Clark our rider. There appears on paper to be surprisingly good pace in the race. We would expect to see MADE TO ORDER settle just off the pace similar to her first two starts and be very powerful to the line.
Currently a $2.00 favourite, it’s still a big ask for any horse, let alone a 3yo filly to head out of midweek maiden company, up to Saturday class and then take on the boys, over an extra 150m. Whilst this is a huge ask, it is offset by the fact she is dropping 4.5kgs in weight from her last start victory and appears on paper, to get a race that should be run at a genuine tempo. However the burden of historical results must be acknowledged and it’s hoped that she may have the necessary class to overcome this historical obstacle.
The 1300m with Tommy Berry on board was a race we also contemplated seriously however it was decided that the correct plan for the horse was to continue stepping forward in distance, rather than dropping back, on the basis we believe she may develop into an Oaks Candidate in the autumn.
PERPLEXITY gets his chance to move up to
2400m for the first time in race 3. He has come a long way this preparation and has performed with distinction every run to date.
Facing the starter on 8 previous occasions this preparation, he has recorded 3 wins, a second and 2 thirds. Having always given every indication he would appreciate the trip at 2400m, where two starts back, he cruised to a win over 2200m before a last start 3rd in a dawdling run race where he got a touch further back than we had wanted but still rattled home well.
He carried 57.0kgs that day (60.0kgs less 3.0 kgs for apprentice John Kissick’s claim) but heads into Saturday’s event carrying only 56.0kgs and importantly Sydney’s top jockey Nash Rawillier will be the pilot. He appears well placed at the weights against this class and another bold showing is anticipated. A patient ride at an even tempo should see Perplexity being very competitive.
HIRAD will run for Caulfield Trainer
Mick Price at
Morphettville where he competes in race 6 over 1600m. This is the first time HIRAD has stretched out to the mile and the stable are confident the horse will handle the distance without concern.
A free, front running individual, who prefers to run along on tracks that are not rain affected, he seems to find a race here void of much pace, with Hirad the only genuine leader in the field of 11. Another added bonus appears to be little to no rain is forecast and the track should be on the better side of Dead during the afternoon.
Add in the skills of leading Adelaide rider
Dom Tourneur, Hirad looks on paper to get the right run in transit, to see him being competitive and it would surprise connections if he didn’t finish in the mix here.
Good luck to all our Dynamic Owners with runners engaged.
