Speedy filly
Take Pride was the first winner for
Blue Diamond winner Reward for Effort when she won on debut last December and in the process she became his
second stakes-winner when she scored a dominant all the way win in the
Group 3 MVRC Champagne Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Purchased from the Eldon Park draft out of Inglis Premier, Take Pride will be hard to beat going forward in the fillies sprints.
“That was very special,” said Murray Johnson, who trained in North America for 30 years before returning to Australia five years ago.
“She’s very quick and at her third run back from a spell she was at the top of her game.”
The most expensive filly from the first crop of yearlings by Reward for Effort, Take Pride obviously has ability to match her good looks with her race record now reading three wins and two placings from eight starts with prizemoney topping $230,000.
Take Pride is the second stakes-winner for Reward for Effort joining Gold Symphony.
On Wednesday 30/9, Reward For Effort’s most expensive yearling colt named
DRILL MASTER broke through for a well-deserved win at Ballarat for Team Hawkes. He’s now had 4 runs for a win and a second placing. Leading all the way he clocked 1:10.48 and the win suggested there are many more to come for the colt.
On Thursday 1/10, Reward For Effort’s daughter
PETITE’S REWARD scored by a length in a Benchmark 70 Hcp over 1000m at Bendigo running 58.00. The 3yo filly beat the older mares and took her career to 3 starts = 2 wins and 1 third.
