When you have a
big tick beside these five factors (
pedigree, size, strength, conformation and athleticism) we then look at
number six (6) x-rays (just as you would get a building and pest report when buying a house or property).
If we get the
all clear on x-ray’s we then progress to an
(7) endoscopic evaluation to ensure that the throat function is behaving normally.
Then we look at
(8) the commerciality of the pedigree. Is it a current, hot and happening family ? If its hot ~ another big tick !
Is the horse
(9) by a Champion ? yes ~ another big tick !
In the horse
(10) directly related to a Champion ? yes ~ another big tick !
Is it a
(11) strong black-type saturated family in the first 3 Dams ? yes ~ another big tick !
Does the
(12) genetic cross work at a higher rate than the standard deviation ? yes ~ another big tick !
So a review of the above Dozen points ~ Does the horse get a
BIG TICK on each point ?
Pedigree, Size, Strength, Conformation, Athleticism, X-Rays, Endoscope, Commercial Pedigree, Champion Sire, Sibling of a Champion, Strong Black-Type Pedigree, Successful Cross.
Now
add in the statistical fact that the sire when mated over the broodmare sire has a
100% Strike Rate ! yes ~ another big tick !
In this specific case its
8 to Race : 8 Winners including 2 Stakes Winners ~ a Gr1 Winner whose now a stallion at stud and a Gr3 winner of over $500k.
Wouldn’t we all have loved this as a school report card !
