First Season USA based Sire UNCLE MO keeps going from strength to strength and his
unbeaten colt NYQUIST kept his record intact when he destroyed his opposition when taking out the
Gr1 Del Mar Futurity which incidentally was a race won last year by champion galloper
American Pharaoh.
Bought for $400,000 at the Fasig-Tipton March 2YO Sale earlier this year.
A last start winner of the
Gr2 Best Pal Stakes at the same venue, the Doug O’Neill trained colt just keeps raising the bar and was a hot favourite for this seven furlong assignment.
He won eased down by three and three-quarter lengths and has now won three from three.
"Before the Futurity I was nervous because Nyquist was the odds-on favorite,” said O’Neill.
"Only bad things can happen. I'm glad it's over."
A
$180,000 weanling and then a
$230,000 yearling,
Nyquist has impressed at every turn in his life so far and can go even further this year.
Nyquist is the first winner for well-bred Seeking Gabrielle, a half-sister by Forestry to Gr3 winner Seeking the Sky, the dam of Gr1 winner Sahara Sky.
UNCLE MO - Champion 2yo & Leading US First Crop Sire
UNCLE MO is currently leading the USA First Crop Sires List.
Uncle Mo has gotten off to a flying start with his stud career as you would expect of a former
Champion 2YO.
NYQUIST - Gr1 Winner
Nyquist is one of eight winners for Uncle Mo, who will have his first Australian two year-olds hit the tracks this spring.
UNCLE VINNY - Stakes Winner
With 2 stakes winners and 2 stakes placed runners already amongst his 8 winners, the stallion looks to be hard to run down for champion First Season Sire Honours in the USA.
