Promising filly
Sasso Corbaro was victorious at Newcastle on Thursday recording the
11th Win by progeny of the top young sire
ALL TOO HARD.
All Too Hard ~ Outstanding Young Sire
The Kris Lees trained filly had been desperately unlucky at her first 2 starts beaten in the final stride at Canterbury on both occasions. She had run into good horses in Manicure and Tennessee Tango and was sent out a very short priced favourite to break her maiden over 1150 metres.
Ridden by Corey Brown she won by a length.
"She got the job done and has probably come to the end of her preparation," said Kris Lees.
"She can go out now and come back a really nice three year-old. She's eligible for the Magic Millions race day, so we might look that way with her in the summer if she's up to that."
Sasso Corbaro is a half-sister to Group 3 placed Smart Manouevre from stakes-placed Furline, a daughter of Group 2 winner Umaline.
ALL TOO HARD joins
YOUR SONG with
11 winners each as the
Leading Australian First Crop Sire by Winners.
However the
YOUR SONG eleven are all in Australia whilst
ALL TOO HARD has had
1 winner in New Zealand which does not get included in the premiership tally.
Therefore with 4 days remaining in the 2016/17 premiership season
Your Song has no new runners to add to his tally whilst
ALL TOO HARD has one runner remaining to level the score.
That is the David Payne trained
All Too Soon who runs in Race 1 at Rosehill on Saturday.
ALL TOO HARD will also finish in second place in the Champion Australian First Season Sires Title.
This title is determined by
Prizemoney earnings.
PIERRO is in an unassailable position with $854,635 with ALL TOO HARD having earned $721,890 and YOUR SONG sits third with $683,910.
The differential of
$132,745 between first and second no matter what happens over the next few days cannot be breached, because there isn’t enough prizemoney on offer for the runners.
Of the Crop of First Season Sires there were
five (5) Stallions who produced
one (1) Stakes Winner each. They were:
PIERRO, ALL TOO HARD, YOUR SONG, EXCELEBRATION and
NEEDS FURTHER.
Whatever the result of All Too Soon in Saturday’s Race 1 at Rosehill,
ALL TOO HARD has had a magical start to his new career as a sire.
Australia’s Champion 3yo is producing tough progeny with obvious ability who are getting better with age – just like the sire himself and
the sire’s own ½ sister BLACK CAVIAR.
All Too Hard has now sired 11 winners in total with 10 in Australia including, his stakes-winner CURDLED and has sired 1 in New Zealand.
All Too Hard stands at Vinery Stud in 2017 at a
Service Fee of $44,000.
