Champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock sired his second juvenile Group 1 winner in Europe for the 2016 season when exciting colt RIVET rounded out his season with a dominant win in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.
RIVET (Red Colours)
Trained by William Haggas and ridden by Andrea Atzeni, Rivet drew clear to win the one mile contest by a length and three-quarters taking his overall record to three wins from five starts.

"The further Rivet went the better he was and he hit the line strong. He´s definitely going the right way and will be a stronger horse next year," said Atzeni.
Rivet is a three-quarter brother to Irish Group 3 winner Alexander Pope and is the best of six winners from Starship, a Galileo half-sister to Champion 2YO Filly Superstar Leo, from the family of imported Australian Group 1 winner December Draw.
Rivet was home-bred by his owners, who include the legendary Lester Piggott, Des Scott, Sue Magnier and Michael Tabor.
Piggott's daughter, was on hand to welcome in the winner at Doncaster.
She said: "It's great. My father bred him with Mr Magnier, Mr Tabor and Mr Scott and it's very special. My mother bought the grand-dam a long time ago.
"The dam is a half-sister to Superstar Leo, so it's a great family we know really well and one that keeps giving. Everything we've bred from the mare has been a good one. We've sold them all, bar this one, and another mare that we've got in foal. It's great we kept this one.
"William thought that if there wasn't the pace we wanted today then we'd do our own thing. Andrea (Atzeni) did it perfectly and got the horse to relax. His ears were pricked and he looked like he was really enjoying it.
"All of them out of the mare have had very good minds and he is the same. He's very laid-back. He's relaxed at home and never overdoes it. He's taking his races well and still looks well.”
Starship has a yearling colt by Coolmore Stud’s Declaration Of War, she doesn’t have a foal and was covered by last year's leading first-season Coolmore Stud based sire Zoffany.
Rivet continues a successful year in Europe for his sire, FASTNET ROCK, who has also been represented at the highest level by this season's Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine INTRICATELY and is also the sire of the Group 3 winning duo Zhukova and Somehow.
Rivet is the 25th Group 1 winner for FASTNET ROCK and is the fourth from a daughter of Galileo joining Intricately, Qualify and Magicool.
Dynamic Syndications have a magnificent 2yo Colt by FASTNET ROCK from SEVRUGA with Gai Waterhouse.
