Foxwedge as at 10 October is
Australia’s Number 1 - Second Crop Sire.
This on its own is fantastic however he’s also
doing the job in the Northern Hemisphere where the past few weeks have seen the best son of Fastnet Rock zoom up the premiership to now sit in
outright second position on the First Season Sires List.
FOXWEDGE - Boom Sire in both Hemispheres
The end of the season in GB/ Ireland is fast approaching and
Newgate Farm's Foxwedge has jumped up into second place on the First Season Sire’s Premiership by Winners, following overnight success at Windsor with short priced favourite - Foxcatcher.
The filly improved at her first run in blinkers to win the five furlong maiden by two and a half lengths.
"This was a good opportunity for Foxcatcher to get the show on the road. Hopefully she will strengthen up over the winter and develop into a nice filly as a 3yo," said her trainer.
Foxcatcher became the 14th winner for Foxwedge in Great Britain / Ireland putting him second place on the leading first crop sires list behind only Sir Prancealot in front of Frankel in third spot.
Foxwedge has sired 18 first crop winners throughout the Northern Hemisphere, also posting winners in France, Sweden and the US.
In Australia, his progeny have jumped out of the ground as three year-olds with star fillies Foxplay and Kentucky Miss posting stakes wins this season, so there is little doubt there will be more to come from Foxwedge in the Northern Hemisphere in 2017.
Dynamic Syndications currently have a regally bred, “Ready To Run” Foxwedge 2yo filly with looks to match on offer with expert trainer Gerald Ryan.
