Dynamic Owners whom have already taken a share in our current syndication of our
EXCEED AND EXCEL ex RED FEVER filly will be heartened by the news over the weekend that
AROD connections are eyeing off the
MVRC WS Cox Plate as a possible target after his dominant front running performance to win Saturday’s
Group 2 Summer Mile at
Ascot.
Dean Watt won the COX PLATE in 2004 with SAVABEEL
AROD’s jockey Andrea Atzeni ensured it would be a truly run contest, setting a strong pace in the lead on
AROD (6/4 fav) who galloped all the way to the line to defeat Lightning Spear by 1.5 lengths whilst Cable Bay finished a further 3 3/4-lengths back in third.
AROD
The
Qatar Racing-owned
AROD has won his last two starts at Group level and trainer
Chapple-Hyam told the Sporting Life reporter the horse is improving.
"He's improved again and Andrea said it was slightly easier than last time (Diomed Stakes at Epsom)," Chapple-Hyam said.
"He has to have the ground fast. If it was good to soft I wouldn't have run him.
Chapple-Hyam said he is likely to test the son of Teofilo at Group 1 level again.
"We’ll see how he is and how he comes out of it, but we'll have to look at the Sussex” Chapple-Hyam said.
"Hopefully it will be fast ground and the track will suit him, so that's where we probably will go.
"
Australia (Cox Plate) is possible at the end of the year.
Sheikh Fahad (owner) has mentioned the Cox Plate.”
AROD has won four of his 10 races and finished fourth in the Group 1 Epsom Derby last year behind Coolmore Stud’s - Australia.
AROD would safely appear in the catalogue pedigree page of
Dynamic Syndications current offering with GAI WATERHOUSE – the spectacular filly by
EXCEED AND EXCEL from RED FEVER (by Red Ransom).
However such is the depth of quality of the female family with
103 Stakes Horses in the pedigree that the problem for the stud book and catalogue producers is which Black Type horse’s do they leave out to find room for
AROD to make the page ?
AROD is entitled to appear on the page.
ANNOCONNOR – the 3 time Gr1 winner and half-sister to
AT TALAQ our filly’s 3rd Dam. She is also a half-sister to
PATTIMACH (Dam of
FAR LANE and Grand-dam of
AROD).
So naturally its exciting for owners of well-bred fillies purchased as
gilt-edged investments where they have the possibility to have a
Cox Plate winner add significant commercial value to the female pedigree.
Certainly when it comes to Red Fever’s female family the opportunity is worth considering, especially considering there are already
103 stakes horses in the family it’s a highly likely that with this family continuing being bred up to the best stallions on the planet there will be many more additions to the pedigree over the coming years.
