BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND won race 2 The TAB IPhone APP Hcp a Non-Metropolitan Winners event over the 1580m trip and on a Dead 5 surface recorded 1:35.99 coming home in 35.81.

The Chris Waller trained BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND was ridden perfectly by in form hoop Jimmy Cassidy and “Pumper” was seen at his skilful best.
Tactically, the race turned out as expected.
Chris wanted to lead in this event and control the tempo. Pumper obliged and after 100m BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND was leading the fence with the favourite at his girth.
The stayed in this formation with the balance of the field covering 8 lengths behind the leading pair. The pressure came on just before the home turn and Jimmy allowed our horse to kick off the front dropping the opposition putting a 2 length gap between him and the trailers.
BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND maintained his superiority in the run to the post and was even allowed to coast to the line the last 50m when the race was over.
This was a well deserved breakthrough win. BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND was still eligible for Maiden Class having previously started on 4 occasions for 3 second placings.
However Chris Waller was adamant the horse has got a bright future and this race would be more beneficial in the longer term. This win cost BLOWIN’ YOUR MIND 7 rating points (3.5kgs) jumping him from a Benchmark 59 to a Benchmark 66 but this will at least help us qualify for better races in the future.
He certainly is a horse with above average ability but still has much to learn about the racing game. With time and patience the future looks bright if he can continue with his current form.
