Trainer David Brideoake is likely to resist the temptation of going too far into the spring with
Moonee Valley stakes winner Nurse Kitchen.

The three-year-old filly is likely to be spelled following her scintillating turn of foot causing a boilover when winning the Group 2 P W Glass Fillies Classic on Saturday.
NURSE KITCHEN - White & Blue colours
Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Nurse Kitchen scored by a half-length from the well-backed favourite Sezanne with I Am A Star a neck away third.
Nurse Kitchen was allowed to balance up from the good draw and settled worse than midfield at an even speed. With the rails off McEvoy was keen to scan wide on straightening and was successful in doing so.
Spotting the lead four lengths, she was slapped up and found a nice reply in the final furlong to gain the lead over the concluding stages and score by a half-length on the favourite Sezanne with I am A Star clinging on for third a head away.
A forgivable first-up run when lucky to stay on her feet meant the Savabeel filly was sent around big odds in this event and she made the most of an uninterrupted passage stepping up in trip for Kerrin McEvoy.
McEvoy said, “She was jumping sharply in trip after running over 1200m last time and didn’t really have a hard run because she got into some trouble.”
Stepping up in trip she really enjoyed it; she’s very raw and got a nice amount of ability as you seen there late.”
Trainer David Brideoake feels the best is yet to come and may only give the filly a light spring campaign.
“We’ll go quietly because I feel she’ll be a better filly in the autumn,
Nurse Kitchen, by Savabeel from the Montjeu mare Flying Monty, was bred by former Victorian trainer Peter Moody and his wife Sarah who retains ownership of the filly.
David Brideoake said Nurse Kitchen was bred on staying lines but was a slow-maturing type.
"She showed us enormous promise from the word go," Brideoake said.
"It's a big effort at her third start to come out and do this.
"We'll have a look at her in the next few days and decide whether that's enough for her this spring."
Brideoake indicated the major three-year-old staying races during the autumn could suit Nurse Kitchen.
"The Oaks races around the country would be logical targets," Brideoake said.
“We’ve always thought she’s been a bit immature and take a little bit of racing but we’ll have a look at her over the next few days and decide whether that’s enough for the spring,” Brideoake said.
Trainer turned owner Peter Moody was on hand to witness the win, carrying his blue and white colours.
She’s a nice filly; she’s always shown good ability and congratulations to David Brideoake and his team and thanks to Kerrin for a wonderful ride,” Moody said.
