Group 1 Golden Rose winner Hallowed Crown has been sent to the spelling paddock to ensure a fit and well horse for the big races over the Autumn carnival.
Hallowed Crown
The colt was intending to head to Melbourne to run in the
Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 1.
"The
Golden Rose was the goal for
Hallowed Crown this spring,” co-trainer
James Cummings said.
"That race is very early in the spring, and we achieved it.
"Anything more would have been a bonus, so we will do what is best for the colt and rest him whilst he’s in good shape.
"The stable is looking forward to his return for the autumn carnival.”
Hallowed Crown won his first four career starts including the
Gr3 Run To The Rose before his
Gr1 success in the Golden Rose.
Hallowed Crown was then unplaced at his latest start in the Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes.
Pre-race the stewards’ announced the horse had a "slight cough” on the morning of the race but "an endoscopic examination” was clear. However the colt raced well below par that day.
