Australia will be at a standstill tomorrow at 3pm as we have once again reached that special time of year known as The Melbourne Cup. Although you will not see the Dynamic silks in this year’s edition of the “The race that stops a nation”, we certainly have a vested interest as the Dynamic Team feature heavily in Australia’s richest race.
Dynamic jockey Tommy Berry will ride in his first Melbourne Cup and no matter what the result, it will be a day for the impressive young jockey to remember. Tommy will partner Glencadam Gold after he rode the gelding to victory in both the LR Premier’s Cup and the Gr1 Metropolitan earlier in the Spring. It has been a break out year for Tommy who managed to salute with his first Group 1 victory only for him to secure a Gr1 winning double on Metropolitan Day to take his tally to 3 Group 1 races this spring. We are extremely proud to be able to secure the services of Tommy on a regular occasion and we wish him all the best of luck in tomorrow’s big race. We are sure this will not be the last time that we see him at Flemington riding in the Melbourne Cup.

Chris Waller will also line up a runner in the $6m feature after Kelinni won the Lexus Stakes on Saturday to automatically qualify for the big race. Chris has done a super job with this improving stayer after acquiring him from Europe in 2010. Since that time he has managed to make his way through the grades and is yet to finish outside the top 4 in Australian racing. It is a sensational training performance on Chris’ behalf to get this horse from a handy benchmark horse in Sydney Metropolitan grade to a live chance in Australia’s greatest race. Glen Boss will partner Kelinni tomorrow who gets in with just 51kgs and looks extremely well placed at the weights.

Peter Moody will have a pair of runners in the big one tomorrow as both Voila Ici and Lights of Heaven are set to contest the 3200m staying test. Both come out of the Caulfield Cup with Lights of Heaven finishing an impressive 3rd and Voila Ici finishing down the track after leading and knocking up due to the strong tempo. Lights of Heaven is being touted as one of the best local hopes in the race and has been gradually building up to the Cup. The step up to two mile looks ideal and it would be no surprise to see the 5yo Zabeel mare feature in the finish.

We wish the best of luck to all involved with the Cup tomorrow and especially to those that I mentioned above. One thing that can be guaranteed is that the hard work that all these men have put in on the track has paid dividends as they will get their chance to win the race that everyone involved in horse racing dreams of being involved in. The first Tuesday in November is always a special day for all Australians and we hope to see these fine individual produce the goods and come home with very positive results.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow and we are sure to be cheering home the members of the Dynamic Team as they all look to win their first Melbourne Cup.
