Dynamic galloper BORIS BADENOV scored his 5th win from 19 starts at Ipswich on Wednesday afternoon when victorious in Race 7 on the programme, the Entire Group Class 4 1350m Handicap.
Wearing saddlecloth Number 2 and carrying 57.0kgs from barrier 6, the
Chris Munce trained Dynamic Syndications gelding was ridden a treat by jockey Ryan Wiggins and the Dynamic Duo scored eased down by 1.5 lengths in a slick time of 1:19.08 coming home in 35.16 defeating IT’S A THRILLER 55.5kgs and in third place was SUPERSTITION 52.5kgs.
The plan was always to roll forward on the feisty
BORIS BADENOV who certainly has
earned his nickname:
“Big Bad Boris.”
Again a little impatient and fraction in the barriers, he jumped cleanly and sped forward for the first 100m before Ryan Wiggins eased back out of the speed battle, settling perfectly in 3rd position, tracking the two leaders who were running along.
At the 600m the field was well strung out and Ryan allowed Boris a bit of reign and the strong gelding cruised up to eyeball the leader at the point of the turn. The pair dashed away on straightening before Ryan allowed Boris to go full steam at the 200m and the horse responded, dashing away.
Trainer Chris Munce is training well and despite this horse having some
“unusual characteristics between his ears” Chris who is a marvellous horseman, has got the horse pinging along.
Ryan Wiggins said when he returned:
“He raced well last start and the couple of horses that got past him, came out and won the week after.
“His run was good today, the speed was there for me and he’s the type of horse that even though the speed was there he likes to sit off them and make out its trackwork gallops, so I let him get up and eyeball the leader and then let him go. He finds enough to get pass that horse and win the race.”
The interviewer asked
“He puts on a good act though doesn’t he?” to which Ryan replied:
“Yeah he thinks he’s pretty good actually but hopefully that’s good for his confidence. He likes Ipswich too. He’s definitely got a Saturday race in him. We just have to find one with good speed in it. I think at 1350m if he has a couple of horses that can sit out in front of him, he’ll go past them.”
