As far as racing both on and off the track goes, there are not too many weekends that will leave us in a better mood than this weekend did. It has already been a positive few weeks here in the Dynamic ranks but it seemed that that Santa has come early this year with the plethora of positive results for the whole team. Starting on track, we are saw wonderful results from the whole Dynamic training team at Rosehill with five of the eight winners being trained by our select group of trainers.
Along with wins to the Jason Coyle trained Scream Machine and the Gerald Ryan trained, Dynamic Syndications purchased Dances On Stars, Chris Waller had a big day out.
Chris again showed the racing community why he is currently the number one Metropolitan trainer in Australia as well as the Premier Trainer in Sydney for he past two seasons.
Chris trained the first three winners of the day at his home track as Hawkspur, Champagne Cath and Heart Testa all produced the goods for team Waller. Good things obviously come in threes for Chris at the moment as he will be training the three colts that we secured from the Ready to Run sale at New Zealand during November.
Chris has had a big opinion of each of these three colts (ENCOSTA DE LAGO – PETTA GAYE, MAGIC ALBERT – BADINOV’S BABE and the NORTHERN METOER – VILLA VALENCIA) since we brought them at the Magic Millions sales in January of this year. We put things on hold however as Dynamic, together with Chris and the rest of the team, decided to send all three colts to New Zealand to show the world just how good these youngsters were by letting them breeze up over a furlong at the ready to run sale. They did not disappoint with all three colts running significantly better than the 10.85 second average over 200m. The impressive efforts that all three colts produced showed that the hard work that Dynamic and Chris Waller put in, really paid dividends.
Chris, seen here with Dynamic Managing Director Dean Watt, was on fire this weekend
Chris having been Sydney’s Premier Trainer two years in a row and he has started this season right where the previous one finished. Chris currently sits on 84 wins throughout NSW for the 2012/13 season and his results continue to get better and better. Of these 84 wins, 67 ½ of them have come in the metropolitan grade and he secured another 2 stakes victories in Melbourne over the Spring carnival. This is a phenomenal effort for a man who didn’t start training on Australian shores until the year 2000. Since he made the move across the ditch from New Zealand, Chris has continued to dominate the training ranks and is now regarded by many racing experts as not only Sydney’s, but Australia’s best trainer.
Along with Chris Waller securing yet another Metropolitan treble, the sire on fire in Encosta De Lago has continued to dominate both in the sale ring and on track. Encosta De Lago has proved that he is a sire that the elite trainers and owners want to have. Is it any wonder since he has sat atop of the sire statistics for the past 5 seasons. This year has been no different! Encosta De Lago is already asserting his dominance on the track with 62 individual winners and 79 race wins overall. The last 30 days has seen him as the Top Performing Sire having a total of 26 winners! We also saw good results for Encosta De Lago over the weekend during the Hong Kong International meeting with the 5yo gelding and Hong Kong Stayer Of The Year, LIBERATOR running a gallant fourth in Gr1 Hong Kong Vase.
Encosta De Lago has continued to produce the goods on track
The on track performances of Encosta De Lago have not gone unnoticed by the Asian markets as we saw the extremely positive sale results for his progeny on Saturday. The December Hong Kong International Sale had three Encosta De Lago geldings go under the hammer, producing three of the top four horses sold at the sale and returned HK$11.8m between them.
The top lot, by Encosta De Lago out of Danzero mare Sharp, brought HK$5,000,000 and is bred on the exact same cross as our own Encosta De Lago – Petta Gaye colt. This particular cross is rated an A+++ which is the highest possible rating that any thoroughbred can have and is responsible for 15 Stakes Winners to date. It is all exciting news for owners looking to a purchase a share into our fabulous colt. We believe our colt to be a genuine stakes class prospect and if he shows that he is up to the grade like we believe he will, this could lead to big money offers from Hong Kong.
Chris will be training all three colts that we bought home from NZ. Dynamic is offering our clients an opportunity to get involved in these outstanding colts. We commenced syndicating last week. These colts have already proved to the world on video they can run and the phone has not stopped ringing since we announced that these colts would be coming back from New Zealand in Dynamic colours.
With the positive results that are continuing for Chris Waller, Encosta De Lago and all horses in the Dynamic silks, it is no wonder that these colts have the phone’s ringing. We anticipate seeing the Encosta De Lago colt on the track as a late two year old with races like the Champagne Stakes and the TJ Smith Classic over the Brisbane winter over 1600m at the forefront of all of our minds. Aiming at races like these we hope will only be the start from this impressive colt, as we expect him to continue to improve and develop as he heads into his 3 - 4yo career.
