Chris Waller has improved on his tally of last season when he had 117 metropolitan winners breaking through that barrier on the weekend at Rosehill.
Waller now sits with an unassailable lead in the Sydney Trainers premiership on 117.5 wins with less than 3 weeks remaining in the season after Berrimilla won over the weekend.
This is an outstanding achievement by Chris who has managed to break the magical 100 winner’s barrier for the second year in a row, something which only a small group of trainers have done in the history of Sydney Racing.
Chris Waller is now among the elites of Sydney Racing
This season, Chris has trained a total of 155.5 winners throughout NSW which puts him 4.5 wins ahead of his closest rivals meaning he is in a great position to win both the NSW and Sydney training premierships.
Chris arrived from New Zealand 12 years ago with only a small team and has built his way up to become the top trainer in Sydney.
Chris has also had stakes winners in other parts of the country this year and sits on 162.5 total winners for the season.
Every year since his arrival, he has managed to eclipse his previous mark that he set the year before and this season has been no different.
This record is a testament to Chris’ hard work as he is always looking to improve on his performance and striving to keep winning more and more race wins for his clients.
There are few trainers who have Sydney Metropolitan Training premierships but to salute twice in a row both times producing well over 100 winners is something that puts him among the best Sydney has seen.
We currently have a number of horses in the care of Chris Waller including a large majority of yearlings and 2yos who are either in the early stages of their careers or yet to hit the track.
Chris has a reputation for his patient training style and often can find just the right race to accommodate a particular horse’s needs.
Another couple of awards will now be added to the Chris Waller collection
We wish Chris all the best for setting his new mark and we are excited about joining him in the winner’s circle numerous times next season as he looks for 3 in a row.
