James Cummings and his new bride
Monica were centre stage receiving the accolades for the brilliant return of Hallowed Crown to win the
RUN TO THE ROSES on Saturday at Rosehill.
Watching closely from the comfort of his lounge chair was his training partner
BART CUMMINGS, proud of the achievements the stable continues to produce whilst he continues to play an active role in mentoring his grandson for their mutual training benefits.

Team Cummings have produced yet another racing headline.
James gets a well deserved congrats hug from his mum Bernadette and wife Monica
Today in the Daily Telegraph, there is a story about Hallowed Crown’s dominant win which sums things up well headlined:
THE coming of age for trainer James Cummings will officially be completed should he win his first Group 1 with Hallowed Crown.
Smart colt Hallowed Crown roared into Golden Rose favouritism after he resumed with an impressive win in the Run To The Rose on Saturday.
James has been in partnership with his famous grandfather Bart Cummings the past 12 months.
And while living legend Bart is known all around the world for his unbelievable success, fourth-generation trainer James will be the one plastered all over the newspapers, TV and more importantly, identified by the next generation of race fans if Hallowed Crown wins Sydney’s first spring major.
At 88, Bart can’t go on forever, but he will no doubt take comfort the family’s proud 100-year history in the racing game is in good hands with James.
Amazingly at just 26, James has the chance to win a Group 1 at a younger age than Bart, who was in his early thirties when Storm Passage won the 1958 SA Derby.
James’ father, trainer Anthony Cummings, was in his mid-thirties when Final Card won up the Flemington straight in what is now known as the VRC Sprint.
James chose his words carefully when asked what a Group 1 win would do for his own reputation.
“To make your mark, you need years and years in this game before you really assert yourself,’’ James told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’m lucky I’ve got Bart there. I’ve got the same enthusiasm as Bart had at the same age, and I’ve got (to call on his) knowledge and expertise.
“Bart called me after the race on Saturday and was excited by the prospect of another potential Group 1 winner.
“It was only 12 months ago we had Eurozone run in the Golden Rose, and in his following campaign he was only beaten a lip in the CF Orr Stakes.
“We’ve had some honest performers, including Precedence, Shamalia, who resumes in a few weeks in the Sheraco Stakes. To win a Group 1 with Hallowed Crown would be amazing.’’
Hallowed Crown just happens to be raced by Gooree Park, which is owned and run by Mrs Cummings, James’ new wife Monica and her own famous family.
While devastating in the wet, it remains to be seen if Hallowed Crown will improve again on top of the ground.
The other uncertainty in the camp is who will actually ride Hallowed Crown in the $1 million race, with Josh Parr to feel stiff competition from Hong Kong-based Christian Reith, who was aboard the colt at his first two wins.
That decision will be made by Gooree boss Eduardo Cojuangco Jr.
Hallowed Crown is the $4.60 favourite with TAB Fixed Odds ahead of Bring Me The Maid, Peter Moody’s fellow mudlark at $6.
Almalad, one of the favourites heading into Saturday before he beat just one home in the Run To The Rose, remains no certain starter for the Golden Rose.
Bart & James and
Dynamic Syndications recently joined forces
and the working relationship between the two
high profile industry identities has been an instant success.
Dynamic Syndications are currently syndicating a
HIGH CHAPARRAL / QUEEN’S SUITE colt with the
training powerhouse and the
duo are hopeful this colt can emulate the success
Bart & James achieved with another son of
High Chaparral – SO YOU THINK.
Previously it was more difficult for smaller shareholders to be involved with the
Cummings stables as they were not geared towards volume ownership.
However this has now changed with
Dynamic Syndications joining forces.
Now 5% & 10% shareholders can gain access to the champion stable and become involved without a massive financial outlay.
For example, a 5% Share in this colt with Full Owners Privileges including your name in the Racebook and Raceday ticketing is just $7,225 and ongoing costs average about $6.85 per day.
