Darley stallions dominated the finish of Saturday’s
Gr3 Telstra Phonewords Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley with the winner
HOLLER in a class of his own.
HOLLER winning eased down
The colt bounced straight to the front by James McDonald and he increased his lead at every call to win eased down by four and a half lengths.
Lonhro colt Brockhoff was a well beaten second with the winner’s stablemate Demonstrate (by New Approach) back in third.
"I got into a lovely rhythm down the side and he never felt as though he was going to get beaten,” McDonald said.
"He’s got many more races in store for him this preparation and I can’t wait to hop back on his back.”
Godolphin representative
Darren Beadman said the son of Commands is starting to live up to his potential and they had no hesitation in backing him up after finishing runner-up behind Mahuta in the
Listed Gothic Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday.
"He’s a big strong colt and the way that he pulled-up was a good indication that he was right to go again.
"He’s a very honest horse. He makes his own luck and puts himself into the race.”
"He’s always shown us a lot of promise at home.”
In earning his first stakes win,
Holler advances his overall record to 2 wins, 2 seconds and 2 thirds from 7 starts for earnings of $226,625.
Bred by Darley Stud, Holler is the fourth foal and third winner out of the Strategic mare Shouts who is a half-sister to 3 x Group 1 winner Yell (Anabaa).
Shouts has a 2yo filly by Ad Valorem (USA) named The Bar.
Her filly foal by Animal Kingdom died after birth and she was bred back to Albrecht last season.
Holler becomes the 68th Stakes-Winner for Commands who died at Darley Stud in July last year.
COMMANDS was a champion sire and a sad loss to the breeding industry.
He is the sire of over 800 individual winners, 68 Stakes Winners and 53 Stakes Placed.
His statistics are amazing with 71.2% Runners:Winners and 91.6% Runners:Earners.

By COMMANDS from the Stakes Winning mare KRYPTELON, this colt was such a fantastic type bred to be a
Classics contender as a 3yo at a mile.
Kryptelon winning one of her 9 races
His Dam
KRYPTELON was a High Class racehorse. She won 9 races to 1350m and $296,100 in prizemoney. She won the
GAI WATERHOUSE CLASSIC (Listed Race) (and with Gai training this colt – surely the fact the dam won the
Gai Waterhouse Classic -
it’s an Omen ! ). Kryptelon also ran 2nd in the BRC Cadell Garrick H.,
LR, and 4th MRC Sportingbet Sprint Series Final Stakes,
LR.
Our colt is from a brilliant female pedigree saturated in Black Type.
The first four dams of our colt are ALL stakes horses:
1st Dam KRYPTELON (SW), 2nd Dam KYRPTO KATIE (SP), 3rd DAM TING A LING (SW), 4th Dam RING O’BELLS (SW).
With his great looks matching a magnificent pedigree if this colt reached Black Type level like each of his direct 4 Dams then we have a
genuine Stallion Prospect on our hands.
