It’s sometimes very rewarding to go back and review stories written in the press about certain horses and certain pedigrees. At the time, the horses are making headlines for the right reasons.
Then with the passing of time, a review of these same stories shows an uncanny, almost mystical content that was more akin to being a “Fortune Teller’s” gaze into a crystal ball.
In the two (2) articles below, which we located via searching the internet, we read a story written on 26 June 2008 about a filly by MORE THAN READY that was offered for sale as a weanling at the Inglis Easter Breeding Stock Sale.
Then the next story was written just 3 days later.
The stories is self explanatory however the significance of the story to Dynamic Syndications and to our clients is extraordinary !
Milanova Filly and Soaring Average Highlight Weanling Opener
26th Jun 2008
A $625,000 More Than Ready filly from regally-related Danehill mare Milanova highlighted a strong opening day of selling at the Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale in Sydney.
The strength of the opening session can be gauged by the average of $32,872, which represents a startling increase of 29% on last year’s overall Select Weanling Sale result.
Lot 144 was the More Than Ready-Milanova filly knocked down to Colm Santry Bloodstock, who secured her on behalf of Coolmore.
MILANOVA and her MORE THAN READY Filly at Foot
Milanova, a Group 3 winner, Listed winner and dual Group 1 placed herself, is from a family that Coolmore Stud have enjoyed great success with, as she is a daughter of Danehill from the Secretariat mare L’On Vite, which makes her a full-sister to Coolmore’s Champion dual Group 1 winning 2YO colt of 2006 Holy Roman Emperor.
This is also the family of Coolmore’s own sire Encosta De Lago, who was crowned Australia’s Champion Sire that season (2007-08).
“
This is one of the best pedigrees in the world and obviously the filly has great residual value,” Santry said.
“We’re looking forward to getting Holy Roman Emperor back to Australia for his second season this year after receiving outstanding reports about his first foals and it’s wonderful to be able to buy another member of this great family,” Santry said.
Milanova’s dam L'On Vite is also the dam of Rock Of Gibraltar's Australasia’s Record Price Yearling, the $3 million Easter sale topper of 2008, knocked down to Waterhouse.
Milanova herself was a $700,000 Easter purchase for Adrian Nicoll's BBA Ireland in 2001.
The More Than Ready filly is Milanova's second live foal.
Her first offspring is a colt by Dehere that sold to agent James Bester for $775,000 at this year's Easter Sale.
L'On Vite was exported to Ireland in 2008.

Milanova lights up sale with bid of $5m
29 June 2008
Coolmore Stud set the new record for the most expensive thoroughbred sold at auction in the Southern Hemisphere when it paid the top price of $5 million for the Gr3-winning & dual Gr1-placed mare Milanova (Danehill-L'On Vite, by Secretariat) during the Broodmare Section (following on from 2 days of weanlings) at the 3-day Inglis Australian Weanling & Breeding Stock Sale held at Newmarket in Sydney in June 2008.
Milanova was sold in-foal to Encosta de Lago, Coolmore's boom stallion & in 2007-08 the runaway leading Australian general sire.
Milanova was the centrepiece of a select band of mares, indeed she was the star attraction of the entire session of breeding prospects being offered at the one-day Select Sale of mares at William Inglis and Son Ltd's Newmarket complex.
MILANOVA $5 Million
The nine-year-old bay mare by dual-hemisphere champion sire Danehill delivered on the massive pre-sale interest shown in her when bidding entered unknown territory.
In the end, it was Michael Kirwan, general manager of Coolmore Stud at Jerrys Plains, NSW, who had the final say at $5 million.
Milanova, therefore, returns to her birthplace, having been sold for $700,000 in Coolmore's 2001 draft of yearlings at the Inglis Australian sales. Coolmore Australia general manager Michael Kirwan commented
“blue hens” like Milanova rarely become available. “Mares like this do not come on the market often anywhere in the world,” Kirwan said.
Kirwan added: “Genuine good horses like her that come on the market always attract big money. She's got a world class pedigree & Coolmore has enjoyed a lot of success with the family, with not only Holy Roman Emperor, but Encosta De Lago, who will be Champion Sire this year”.
“Hers is a family that has been making tremendous money over the years and it has just got better. When we sold Milanova as a yearling, her brother, Holy Roman Emperor, was three years away from being born.”
Coolmore's winning bid blasted past the previous high of $3.4 million set on the same Inglis grounds at the 2007 Easter broodmare sale when Group I sprinter Virage de Fortune virtually straight out of training.
John Vincent for the vendor Tyreel Stud said he was "bowled over" by the success of the record sale price for Milanova. "We knew she would bring good money, we were thinking something around $3 million to $3.5 million," he said. "The interest in her was enormous and I knew there would be four or five serious bidders."
Milanova's record sale followed just three days after the Top Price for a Weanling was set at $625,000 for Milanova’s own filly by More Than Ready, the outstandingly successful sire.
This filly was offered for sale by her owners Tyreel Stud. Earlier at the 2008 Easter Yearling Sale Tyreel had also sold Milanova's son a stunning colt by Dehere, which changed hands at $775,000.
Milanova's mother, the Secretariat mare L'On Vite, was returned to Ireland three weeks earlier in foal to Encosta de Lago to northern hemisphere time service date.
Holy Roman Emperor, Milanova's multiple Group I winning brother, stands at stud at Coolmore.

Review:
As it turned out, the $625,000 Record Priced Weanling was given the name PRETTY FLAMINGO.
She was considered “Too Valuable To Risk” as a racing prospect by breeding powerhouse Coolmore, because at the time she was the only daughter of the record breaking mare MILANOVA considered by them as “the best mare in the world.”
Coolmore sent PRETTY FLAMINGO to stud as a 3yo and her first foal is by ENCOSTA DE LAGO.
This is the ACTUAL filly Dynamic Syndications are now syndicating.
She is (in descending order) - the first filly - from the first filly - from MILANOVA.
She will turn out to be a valuable commodity in the future, based upon how rare immediate descendants of this family are to gain access too. They are controlled by Coolmore Stud who up until now had a monopoly of the direct descending females.
We had done our homework prior to the sales and combined with the all clear from our veterinarian Tim Roberts and based upon our close relationship with the Coolmore team, we knew this filly was the ultimate gilt-edged investment offering wonderful racing upside and tremendous residual value to our clients.
