In 2011 at the
New Zealand Premier Sale at Karaka, Dynamic Syndications went over to add some nice yearlings to our stables.
Having identified several possible candidates and having them fully vetted, a Bay Colt offered by Highview Stud as agent was catalogued as
Lot 77.
By the now super sire
SNITZEL, back then the stallion’s oldest progeny were only 3yo’s but showing promise.
The colt was out of the mare Last Tycoon mare
STARNET, who had won 2 races herself and she was a half-sister to
Group 1 Winner MISS MARGARET.
At that stage, the mare had produced seven foals to race, five winners including Group 1 placed Volcanic Star.
Importantly, apart from being a good type and being very correct, he was genetically rated as good as ratings can be. They simply don’t rate any better.
Adam Watt was bidding on behalf of our Dynamic Team and to our delight, the colt was knocked down to Adam’s bid for just
$95,000 NZD.
We immediately offered the colt to
Gerald Ryan and began the process of syndicating him.
As luck would have it, a client of
Gerald Ryan and his mate were looking to buy a Snitzel colt and agreed with us, that our colt was something special, so we syndicated the whole horse with them.
The colt was given the racing name
DANCES ON STARS.
It proved a wise decision for his new owners
Messers Mullins, Keegan, and Glenister’s.
The colt was broken-in and educated under our normal Dynamic Syndications process, and went into Gerald Ryan’s for his racing career and so far it’s been a brilliant decision.
From 23 race starts, the now
4yo DANCES ON STARS has won 4 races, 4 seconds and 3 thirds and won $507,150 prizemoney.
On 11 of these 23 race starts, DANCES ON STARS has earned Black Type.
On Saturday afternoon on the Gold Coast, D
ANCES ON STARS added the PRIME MINISTER’S CUP (LR) to his outstanding resume which already included the: Kindergarten S. (Gr3), Carrington S., (LR), 2d Queensland Guineas (Gr2), Takeover Target S., (LR), Ken Russel Memorial (LR), 3d BRC Sires Produce (Gr2), Champagne Classic (Gr2), Gold Coast Guineas (Gr3), 4th Sebring S., (Gr3), National Sprint (LR).
In the PRIME MINISTER’S CUP, DANCES ON STARS was allowed to find his feet early from a wide draw (14), whilst the pace was on upfront early. Approaching the home turn, rider Matthew Cahill started to creep up around the field and as they turned for home he was the widest runner and a dozen lengths off the leaders.
However, within 150m the deficit was wiped off and
DANCES ON STARS was eyeballing the leader before proving too strong and drawing away to score a dominant win over the 1300m trip.
Congrats to the Owners of DANCES ON STARS:
B P Mullins, Ms D R Keegan, P R Glenister and Mrs P A Glenister.
The win continues the wonderful season Gerald Ryan is having. We are delighted Gerald Ryan is part of the Dynamic Team.
