Two weeks ago on Cox Plate Day, we were treated to a pearler of a ride by Brisbane’s Top Rider
Jeff Lloyd when he scored with
PERPLEXITY over 2000m at Doomben.
On Saturday 7 November, the same team put on another masterclass this time under a huge 59.0kg,
PERPLEXITY led from barrier to post to run his rivals ragged to display a tough, gutsy win in Race 2 - the
BRISBANE MARRIOTT HOTEL - OPEN Handicap (2220 METRES) at Doomben and we banked another
$41,600 in the process.

Perplexity recording his 8th win - scoring at Doomben 7-11-15 with Jeff Lloyd aboard.
They ran a time of 2:19.17 with their last 600m: 0:33.86 which was sizzling closing sectional for stayers on rain affected ground.
PERPLEXITY leads the placegetters back to scale

On Friday 6 November,
Dynamic Syndications wrote a story for our website highlighting how much confidence Chris Munce had in Perplexity and how Chris believes
PERPLEXITY to be a serious stayer and is aiming at possible races such as the ATC SUMMER CUP and then off for a let-up to come back in the winter to target the two races Chris has close to his heart – the Caloundra Cup (2400m) and the Queensland Cup (3200m).
Despite giving away a massive 5.0kgs to his opposition,
PERPLEXITY who is a big, strong and tough campaigner went to work and was too hard for his opponents.
Jeff Lloyd rated Perplexity a treat, taking our 6yo straight to the lead and judging the pace to perfection under the 59.0kgs. The horse set up a nice rhythm until the pressure came into the race when Quick Snitzel whipped around to attack for the lead at the 550m.

Perplexity was clicked up and as they turned for home Jeff and Perplexity tole a length and held tight as the challengers attacked but
Perplexity is a different class to his peers and despite the big pull in the weights, he was able to coast to the post over the final 100m to defeat UNO FIVE (54.0kgs) by 0.4 length with favourite COL ‘N’ LIL (53.0kgs) a further 0.3 lengths in arrears.
Chris Munce post-race interview
Trainer CHRIS MUNCE was interviewed post-race and said:
“He’s a lovely old horse. I knew he had come on good since his last start win with his work here on Tuesday was really sharp.’
“I wasn’t worried about the 59.0kgs – yeah I love him – he’s a great old horse.’
“I don’t think it would have mattered if something had have made a mid-race move because his staying ability is so good.’
“He’s a real tough staying horse and I can’t wait to get him out to a mile and a half – two mile over the winter.’
“I know he’s getting up in the weights now but he’s fit, doing well and looking a treat.’

Jeff Lloyd post race interview
Winning jockey JEFF LLOYD said:
“He had top weight I had to bear that in mind but at the same time he can’t sprint so I had to get going a little earlier on him.’
“I expected something to take us on and show initiative so I was surprised they didn’t take us on’
“He feels like he will stay all day further and even two mile races won’t be beyond him.”
