DYNAMIC Delighted with BARBED Heritage Stakes Win

On Saturday, there was a terrific result for our team of owners that race the Dynamic Syndications 2yo filly DYNAMIC ROCK (Fastnet Rock ex Dynamic Love) when at Royal Randwick, the 2013 Heritage Stakes 1100m was won by the Peter Snowden trained BARBED for the Darley Team.

This is because BARBED is by Canny Lad ex Key Bar Nights.

The significance of this to our owners is, KEY BAR NIGHTS (by Anabaa) and DYNAMIC LOVE (Brave Warrior) are ½ sisters. So, BARBED will now display prominently in the second dam on her pedigree page. This has been a timely and major commercial boost for this pedigree.

KEY BAR NIGHTS won 3 races and was a Stakes Winner and Gr2 placed. Whilst DYNAMIC LOVE won 7 races including a Gr2, a Gr3 and a LR.

They are also both ½ sisters to two (2) other stakes Placed siblings: ARIMATHEA and GROUSE LANE.

BARBED was too good for the field, holding off his competitors.

BARBED won the Listed Heritage Stakes by a head in front of Diamond Oasis, and Whittington. Having settled back on the inside of runners early, BARBED stayed here until his rivals fanned at the turn. Then his rider Hugh Bowman kept to the inside saving ground. The pair hit the front 100 metres out and held on to defeat Diamond Oasis and Whittington who were on the outside

BARBED has now won both his career starts and has earned over $79,000 in prizemoney.

He has also won at Canterbury on debut in May and the trainer said the Canny Lad gelding had shown plenty in his work this preparation to suggest he was up to stakes grade upon resumption.

"We worked him with Guelph two weeks ago and there wasn’t a whisker between them,” Snowden said.

"It was a tough ask but Kerrin’s (McEvoy) been very bullish.”

“We‘ve been very happy with him this preparation,” Snowden said.

“This was an ideal starting point.

“Roman Consul Stakes (1200m Gr2) is a race I always had in mind. As long as he pulls up okay that’s his next run.

“We’ll take one race at a time and see how he goes there.”

From Dynamic Syndications perspective, we have our fingers crossed that BARBED will be very competitive for Peter Snowden for the balance of the carnival.
