With the announcement this morning from the Minister for Racing, George Souris regarding the upgrade of the Newcastle track many trainers are extremely excited.
Dynamic Syndications own Darren Smith is among these and in an interview with Andrew Bensley this morning on Sky Sports radio Darren was extremely positive about the upcoming improvements.
Darren Smith is looking forward to the upgrade at Newcastle
Darren believes that with this upgrade Newcastle will continue to be “the number one provincial race club not only in NSW but all around Australia”
Darren has been a big supporter of the Newcastle Racing Club after he started training horses in the region just before his 20th birthday.
The Newcastle Race Club is constantly looking to upgrade their facilities and this announcement comes on the back of the new Pro Ride and Sand tracks that have had in operation there for the last few weeks.
With this upgrade, it is the belief of Darren and many racing personalities that it will give the punters more confidence to bet on the two tracks that perform on a consistent basis.
Sky Racing journalist, Andrew Bensley also believes that this is a brilliant move from Racing NSW and “opens up all kinds of opportunities to race here (in Newcastle) for countless amounts of meetings”
Darren Smith has won the
Max Lees medal on
3 occasions
The announcement comes just before the start of the two day Newcastle Cup carnival which features some of the best racing that is seen outside of metropolitan areas all around Australia.
Darren is one of the best trainers in the Newcastle Region having won the prestigious Max Lees Medal on 3 occasions and produces countless amounts of victories for Dynamic Syndications and their clients.
These new state of the art facilities will give Darren every opportunity that the Sydney based trainers have but in a far more relaxed Newcastle environment.
Darren will saddle up a number of runners over the two day Newcastle carnival that is currently underway at the Broadmeadow track.
Among these is Dynamic Syndications own Savage Blaze who will line up in the final race of the day on Wednesday with Champion jockey, Nash Rawiller aboard.
Darren, whose interview can be heard below, also informed the listeners this morning that Atomic Force would be returning to Melbourne for a crack at the Gr2 Moir Stakes at Mooney Valley.
Atomic Force will head down south once again following his eye catching 4th in the Carlyon Stakes at the same venue.
Darren has already started this season off in good fashion with 8 winners and will look to improve on his record during the next two days and over the Spring Carnival.
Overall it has been a positive morning for Newcastle Racing and the Darren Smith camp who continues to produce great result year after year.
