Congratulations to our Dynamic Owners, Trainer Gerald Ryan and his team and also too boom young apprentice Andrew Adkins on a well thought out plan that was executed perfectly.
On Sunday THORSBORNE scooted along to win the Class 2 1100m event at Hawkesbury.
Sent out a $3.30 favourite,
the talented Thorsborne never gave her supports and connections any source of concern as she dominated the older horses including the males to score a dominant win in race 6 the Pak-Mor Waste Equipment Class 2 Handicap.
Placed perfectly into this event being a 3yo filly against the older horses,
THORSBORNE was handicapped with 55.0kgs and carried 52.0kgs after the claim.
On paper it looked a challenging affair and the money came for a couple of competitors however
THORSBORNE was never under threat.
Turned out in the parade looking a treat by
Gerald Ryan, Thorsborne went to the barriers with high confidence from her supporters.
As they jumped away,
Andrew Adkins followed instructions well and allowed
THORSBORNE to roll forward before second favourite Magic Topaz crossed from wide, to take up the running by a couple of lengths with
THORSBORNE sitting in second position 2 lengths off the pace.
As they swung into the home straight, Andrew switched off the heels of the leader to its outside and gave chase.
Within a couple of bounds
THORSBORNE had swept to the lead and with Andrew realising the race was won, gave
THORSBORNE an armchair ride to the finishing post.
THORSBORNE won by 1.3 lengths x 0.1 Len in a very quick 1:02.77 coming home in a slick 34.47.
Trainer Gerald Ryan was represented at Hawkesbury by his son Blake Ryan who, when he was interviewed post-race by Richard Haynes was asked about the
excellent ride by Andrew Adkins aboard Thorsborne:
Blake Ryan
Richard Haynes said to Blake: “That was just nice and it all went to plan,
Thorsborne went along and Andrew can take a bow, he didn’t panic, he just kept her rolling along nicely and she was good.
Blake responded: He did the right thing … he didn’t break her rhythm at all, he just let the leader cross and they were running time, they quite comfortably broke 1:03 that’s going along at a good clip and she has done the job well. It’s good to see her do it and get another win for Dynamic and the Team, they’ve always been good supporters of the stable and we’re happy enough with that.
She’s honest and tough and we’ll just keep picking the mark with her and find the right races and hopefully there’s other wins in store for her.
Andrew Adkins
Jockey Andrew Adkins said:
“That was a tidy effort, once we got around that tear away leader, I just kept her mind (focused) and she rolled her way to the line and she hit the line pretty well and I was very happy with it.
They (connections) reminded me before I hopped on that she is the sort of filly that doesn’t like to be ridden too hard on the bridle, you‘ve got to let her roll along under her own speed and be happy where she is and she finishes her races off and that’s what she did today.
She was really determined and wanted to win so it was great.
THORSBORNE took her career record to 9 starts: 3 wins, 1 second, 2 third & $63,765
Congratulations to our terrific team of co-owners that race THORSBORNE:
