We are pleased to announce that Gun young hoop and Dynamic Syndications regular, Chad Schofield has outridden his allowance on the provincial circuit.
The young South African expatriate is soon to be crowded this season’s champion Sydney apprentice and he currently sits on 39 Sydney metropolitan wins, 14 ahead of closest rival, Sam Clipperton.
Chad, who is the son of leading Sydney jockey Glyn Schofield, rode his 80th metropolitan/provincial winner when he booted home General Sherman in the final race of the day at Hawkesbury on Sunday.
This year Chad has managed to ride 75.5 winners total around various courses in NSW. He still has time to add to his tally in the 2011/12 season before his last ride on Saturday.
Chad is in great riding form as he booted home a race to race double on Wednesday at Canterbury and will partner Dynamic’s own, Secret Delight in the Rosebud qualifier on Saturday.
Chad has had plenty of success aboard Dynamic horses this season riding Atomic Force, Secret Delight and Dream Choice to victory among others.
Chad partnered Atomic Force to victory earlier in the season
What makes Schofield’s efforts more impressive is that he will become the first rider in 14 years to win the apprentice title in only his second season of racing.
Chad is employed by Dynamic trainer and former champion South African jockey, David Payne, who has mentored him brilliantly and helped him become the best apprentice on the Sydney scene.
We wish Chad all the best of luck with this new challenge and hope to see him riding more winners for Dynamic in the coming seasons.
