Dynamic Syndication, Trainer Matthew Dunn and Jockey Tim Bell combined on Friday at Ipswich to score with the beautifully bred 3yo filly
BERGDORF (Manhattan Rain ex Miss Excellence by Exceed And Excel) a ¾ sister-in-blood to REWARD FOR EFFORT and OVERREACH.
BERGDORF won race 2, the Jon Kent Lawyers Fillies And Mares Maiden Plate 1350m.
She was sensationally backed on course and with the corporates, opening at $1.60 and firming in to start a $1.30 favourite.
TIM BELL gives a wink !
BERGDORF has taken her career record to 5 starts: 1-1-1.
Both races she hasn’t finished in the first 3 home were in Stakes Races.
On debut, she ran in the Breeder’s Plate before heading to the spelling paddock.

She was sent up north to Matthew Dunn and the filly had been working the house down. This win is hopefully the start of some better race wins to come.
First up for Matthew and being her second career race start, the filly got a long way out of her ground over 1200m but finished strongly to run third at Ipswich.
She then went to the Gold Coast for what we considered was a race she should win. The fact was simple, she ran second beaten a nose. She should have won by panels but several pilot errors in transit cost her victory.
Knowing how well she was going we elected to have a throw at the stumps and despite being a maiden we ran her in a Stakes Race over 1200m at Doomben. She got a long way back again but hit the line hard to be beaten 3 lengths.
We chose to send her up in distance and put the blinkers on for today’s run and we won with authority.
To be fair, she over raced early with the blinkers on first time and pulled her way up to the leader, sitting at its girth after 300m. Then at the 600m mark another runner whipped up around her to eyeball the leader and pilot Tim Bell eased her out of the speed battle.
Approaching the home turn, Tim angled
BERGDORF 3 deep and cruised up to eyeball the leading pair. Tim asked her for an effort and
BERGDORF responded, kicking a length clear and in the fast run final 200m, she maintained her position in the run to the line. Tim reported he was on the winner from the start but she still has a fair bit to learn but she has the talent to be running in the good class races over the Brisbane Winter carnival.
Matthew Dunn reported on Sky Channel that the filly had always shown above average ability and we gave her a look at the better class race last start but elected to drop back in grade and teach her to win.
It was terrific to see loyal Dynamic Syndications client Ross Gall trackside to welcome back BERGDORF and Tim Bell.
