Peter Moody needs no introduction to any racing enthusiast. One of Australia’s elite horsemen, PETER MOODY has been at the pinnacle of our sport for many years.

Dynamic Syndications have enjoyed tremendous success with Peter Moody training our horses. Amongst the huge tally of winners he has trained for Team Dynamic, there is no doubt the horse that gave us greatest satisfaction was REWARD FOR EFFORT.

Purchased from the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sales in 2008, the colt went on to record a stellar racing career that saw him compete and succeed at the highest level.

The evolution has now turned a full circle and it is with great pleasure that we introduce a spectacular daughter of our superstar sprinter REWARD FOR EFFORT. His oldest progeny are yearlings and we went about the process of selecting what in our opinion, was his best filly and best colt based on type and genetic pedigree matings.

We are proud to offer our clients the first of these REWARD FOR EFFORT progeny that we have selected for syndication.

Dynamic Syndications have been associated with REWARD FOR EFFORT from the day we purchased him as a yearling and we continue this association with him now he is at stud.

We have a complete understanding of the conformational type and the temperament of REWARD FOR EFFORT.

We have also assisted many breeders with advice as to the style of mare most likely to suit the sire - both on type and genetics.

These breeders have benefited from this advice.

Two of the top three sales were by progeny from mares we had purchased for our clients.

Lot 285 from GO WITH THE WIND - we purchased the mare for our client Mr. George Rassos for just $3,500 and the resultant colt sold for $170,000.

Lot 616 from TZARESS we purchased the mare for our client Mr. Jack Keeley for just $13,500. This was her first foal and sold for $100,000.

Being aligned with Chatswood Stud and having seen the sire and more importantly, his stock mature over the past couple of years and with many of our clients sending their mares and having seen these resulting foals develop into yearlings, we are ideally placed in the market to identify the right style of yearling by the sire.

Having had the benefit of seeing the high majority of his progeny prior to the commencement of the 2014 yearling sales around Australia, we were immediately able to determine which yearlings by REWARD FOR EFFORT were going to be the ones we wanted to own from his first crop.

Specifically from a genetics perspective, we identified that there were two crosses that were working very well with REWARD FOR EFFORT’S sire EXCEED AND EXCEL. Of these, we decided to target ENCOSTA DE LAGO line mares.

Why? EXCEED AND EXCEL has an obvious affinity with ENCOSTA DE LAGO line mares which should pass on through his son:

There have been just 15 Starters by EXCEED AND EXCEL from ENCOSTA DE LAGO line mares.

8 Individual Winners including 3 Stakes Winners:
INSTINCTION, REBEL CALL, MOHAVE and 4 Placegetters including Stakes Placed: FORGET.

This is a success rate well above the normal variant and highlights the genetic affinity between these sires. It was certainly no coincidence that what we considered the best yearlings on pedigree were actually the best on type by Reward For Effort out of Encosta De Lago mares. The cross delivers fabulous conformation, size, strength, great bone and well balanced individuals with excellent hindquarters.

We set ourselves the target to buy the Best Colt and the Best Filly with the Best Genetic Cross to the Sire. This in our opinion gives our clients the Best Opportunity to enjoy Racetrack Success.

Dynamic Syndications have purchased two (2) exciting yearlings by REWARD FOR EFFORT.

We consider we have both the Best Colt and Best Filly by the sire.

Both are out of Daughters of ENCOSTA DE LAGO.

Weird how fact can often be stranger than fiction. The older one gets, the more experience one obtains and with that experience, it converts to wisdom. The best aspect from Dynamic’s perspective is the way we were able to strike early at the Magic Millions before the market heated up on the sire. These were astute purchases in comparison to where the market is sitting on his stock right now.

Interestingly, on a $10,000 Service Fee (plus GST), his Top 10 Sales have averaged $88,950 with a median price of $76,250. That’s been a massive return for his savvy breeders.

We remain 100% committed to our opinion that we have secured the Best Colt and the Best Filly by REWARD FOR EFFORT. By doing our significant due diligence work and believing that sire would “Take Off” in Melbourne where he won the Blue Diamond and now Stands at Stud, then the best buying for his yearlings would be early at the Magic Millions where his stock would be under the radar.

Experience / Wisdom, call it whatever, the fact is that if the yearlings we purchased had of been sold in Melbourne rather than earlier at the Gold Coast, we would have been paying a huge amount more for them. There is little doubt in our mind they both would have been at the upper end of the list of his progeny to sell.
