ARBEITSAM Update: Dynamic Syndications millionaire success story ARBEITSAM (5yo g. SNITZEL x WORKHARD) has been progressing nicely whilst keeping under the radar ahead of his Spring campaign which has an ultimate goal to gaining a start in the Cox Plate.
ARBEITSAM & Tim Clark
ARBEITSAM heads the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stables 6 nominations for the 2018 Cox Plate.
Dynamic Syndications purchased ARBEITSAM at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale for $120,000 and so far he has banked total earnings of $1,047,750 from 20 Starts: 7 Wins - 3 Seconds - 4 thirds.
Exactly 12 months ago he won the Premiers Cup Prelude at Rosehill as a Benchmark 81 rated horse.
In his next seven starts ARBEITSAM raised his Benchmark rating by 23 points (which equals 11.5kgs).
He returns to the track in a fortnight as a Benchmark 104 rated horse such was the brilliance of his last campaign.
Therefore Benchmark racing is no longer available to ARBEITSAM and he can only run in Set Weights or Weight-For-Age or Gr1 Handicap races taking on the elite Stakes Class races.
ARBEITSAM returning to scale after winning the Neville Sellwood Stakes Gr3
In his last preparation he won the Neville Sellwood Stakes Gr3, was runner-up in the $1m Magic Millions Cup and was Gr1 placed in the $3.1m DONCASTER Handicap - the World’s Richest Mile and for the preparation won his connections $574,350.
In the Doncaster, when HAPPY CLAPPER hit the line the clock stopped at a sizzling 1:33.17 which was a New Race Record, lowering the 1:33.70 set by BELMURA LAD 38 years earlier in 1979 and just 0.04 secs outside IKE’S DREAM track record set in 2004.
ARBEITSAM ran 1:33.47 which also smashed the previous race record by 0.23 seconds.
This preparation, ARBEITSAM has come back fully mature, significantly stronger and according to his pilot Tim Clark, “the best he has ever felt.”
Adam Watt & Gai Waterhouse chat at trackwork
Gai Waterhouse said of ARBEITSAM after his most recent trial: “he’s showed very nice improvement into this second trial from his first trial effort.”
Tim Clark
Jockey Tim Clark commented, "He began well and put himself up there on the speed. The leader was running along quite strongly in front but he tracked it the whole way and finished off nicely. He just lacked a bit of sharpness in this second trial but fitness wise, he is on track and that will bring him on hugely."
ARBEITSAM pulled up in great order and will certainly strip fitter after this trial. Tim Clark really made him find the line and his best work was for the next 200m past the post.
He is now ready to get back to the races this campaign.
We plan head to Randwick on the 1st of September for the Group 2 Tramway Stakes over 1400m.
We had his programme mapped out well in advance and everything to date has progressed without complication. Whilst it is fluid and can change on a run by run basis, his current programmed pathway consist of:
23 April Spelled Oakridge 4 weeks (28 days)
21 May Pre-Training Wild Oaks 3 weeks (21 days)
11 June Training Randwick 7 weeks (49 days)
1st Trial 30 July 850m Randwick
2nd Trial 13 August 900m Randwick
1st Run 1 September 1400m Tramway Gr2 $200 SW&P
2nd Run 15 September 1600m George Main Gr1 $500 WFA
Either of these two races on the same day:
3rd Run 29 September 1600m Epsom Gr1 $1m Hcp
or
3rd Run 29 September 1800m Underwood Cup Gr1 $750 WFA
4th Run 13 October 2000m Caulfield Stakes Gr1 $1m WFA
Then if he receives an invitation for the Cox Plate:
5th Run 27 October 2040m COX PLATE Gr1 $3m WFA
We expect the team that races ARBEITSAM to have a lot of fun this preparation taking on the Best of the Best:
