It was a clinical display by the Dynamic Syndications purchased DANCES ON STARS (SNITZEL x STARNET) as he won the Blackwoods Galmet Handicap over 1350m at Rosehill on Saturday. Settling just behind the pace in a hotly run race, the well supported Dances on Stars waited for the precise moment to pounce and timed his run to perfection. The official winning margin was 2.3 lens x Half Head however it could have been further after jockey Brenton Avdulla eased up the colt on his way to the line when had a comfortable lead.
Dance on Stars was eased up on the line for an easy victory
This progressive colt was purchased by Adam Watt on behalf of Dynamic Syndications at the 2011 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale for $95,000 NZD from Highview Stud. Adam was in NZ representing Team Dynamic for that sale and after doing our due diligence investigations, it was decided he was a must have colt.
There was never any doubt in the minds of Dynamic that Dances on Stars was going to be a brilliant racehorse and what he has done to date has proved that. Bred on the Redoute's Choice / Last Tycoon cross which was an A+++ Quality 8/10 Pedigree Rating Score, we believed the colt to be something special both genetically and on type.
Dances on Stars has always been a nice type
This cross has produced 10 stakes winners to date including two Gr1 winners, two Gr2 victors and two scalps at Gr3 level. Dances On Stars added further value to this cross during April of this year when he won the Kindergarten Stakes and then went on to place a further three times in stakes level during the Brisbane Winter carnival. After going out for a much deserved spell, he returned for the Spring Carnival where he had three luckless but solid runs, the latter two occurring in Melbourne. The return to Sydney racing did him the world of good as he produced a near faultless performance to break through for a well-earned victory.
Dances on Stars before winning the Kindergarten Stakes
This colt was originally advertised for sale on TVN and appeared on our website for purchase at $14,250 per 10% share. During this selling period, the horse commenced training and within a few days Gerald Ryan suggested to his client Brian Mullins that he buy 100% of the shares and race it with his close mate rather than taking a smaller share percentage with other owners.
Dynamic and Gerald negotiated the sale of all the 10 shares (100% equity) and also the agreement to race the colt in Brian's own Registered Racing Colours of Red with Silver Stars rather than our Dynamic Syndications Colours. We were happy to assist with this requested arrangement.
With Gerald being interstate, Team Dynamic was again on hand at Rosehill (like we were for the Gr3 Kindergarten victory) to enjoy the day and celebrate the success of Dances on Stars latest victory. Congratulations go to the Dynamic Team of Owners who race the colt : Brian Mullins, Donna Keegan, & Mr & Mrs Glenister. They have had several good horses in the past including AJC Villiers winner Dances On Waves and are great supporters of racing.
With the emphatic win on Saturday, Dances on Stars improves his record to 11 starts for 2 wins and 4 placings with a total of $210,750 in prizemoney. This impressive record is sure to build as he continues to grow and mature with both time and racing and under the excellent care of leading trainer Gerald Ryan.
