Caulfield Trainer PETER MOODY has a 2yo filly for Dynamic Syndications that appears to be capable of giving her owners a lot of fun, based upon her easy trial win at Cranbourne this morning.
REPARTEE - Easy Trial Winner
Peter Moody & Luke Nolan are Dynamic
REPARTEE is by highly promising first season sire NORTHERN METEOR out of the mare COMEDY CLUB by Perugino.
REPARTEE - When at Spelling Farm
A Magic Millions graduate from 2012, she was purchased by Dynamic Syndications from Ray Willis’ Rheinwood Pastoral Company at Mittagong for $100,000. Their motto is “Bred in the Cold – Hot on the Track” and it appears at this stage, they have bred another quality equine athlete.
At the sales, we thought she looked a runner and gave her conformation and pedigree page evaluation three ticks. An A, 301% Pedigree Rating Score bred on the Encosta De Lago / Danzig Cross, this filly is from the immediate family of our own REWARD FOR EFFORT and this year’s Golden Slipper Winner OVERREACH.
REWARD FOR EFFORT - Blue Diamond Winner
OVERREACH - Golden Slipper Winner
REPARTEE is the third live foal of COMEDY CLUB. The mare has had 2 foals to race including: CLUB HA HA 9 wins and VEICO placed twice in town.
COMEDY CLUB was a winner at 1200m and she is a ½ sister to SW BLEVEEKA and SP Tora Tora Tora. He dam LIVE COMEDY (by Rory’s Jester) is a ¾ sister to SW MISS PROSPECT (Dam of REWARD FOR EFFORT) Whilst OVERREACH is a ¾ sister to REWARD FOR EFFORT.
This filly has always shown ability since the day a saddle was put on her back however the Northern Meteor stock have taken a little time to mature. He is now joint leader of the first season sires premiership with Sebring.
She was impressive last preparation but when ready to race, contracted a virus and was returned to the paddock. This time in she is a lot more mature and the first experience has assisted her well.
In today’s trials, she went around in Heat 3 – a field of 7 runners she was ridden by Ben Melham and jumped out of Gate 7 of 7. Running 47.48 on a Dead 5 surface.
Straight out of the gates like a slingshot, she jumped so quickly she was 2 in front after 50m and was in control the whole way. Ben Melham allowed the horse to stay out wide on the track, 4 and 5 deep, well away from the fence which allowed those underneath her to cut the corner but it made no difference. Under a stranglehold until the 150m, Ben then asked REPARTEE to extend to give her a fitness hit out and the filly responded nicely to the lengthening rein, doing good work all the way over the final 100m to record an easy 1 length by 1.3 length result without being let go or fully asked to find top gear.
A top sort with the hottest female pedigree behind her and a sire who’s doing the job, the future looks bright that she may add a photo or two to the office wall. Whatever she does this preparation, she appears our team may have some fun with her in the Spring.
