Sunday night saw the undefeated streak of classy Singapore galloper STEPITUP continue as he blew away his rivals by 4.3 lengths in the S$75,000 Kranji Stakes over 1200m to make it three wins from as many starts. After winning his first two starts, settling back in the field showing a great turn of foot to finish right over the top of his rivals, he showed his versatility sitting on pace yesterday but still producing the same winning result. Dynamic Syndications were once again watching on with close interest as the Australian bred 3yo bay gelding made short work of his rivals romping to a decisive victory with Ivaldo Santana in the saddle.
Jumping from the widest barrier on Sunday, Santana had the gelding closer to the speed on Sunday despite covering a little ground. But it didn’t matter as when Santana pressed the button soon after straightening, Stepitup quickly opened up a huge margin which he held all the way to the line.
Stepitup's most recent victory
There is huge wraps on this horse from trainer Sonny Yeoh with a number of other industry professionals having a large opinion on this horse. “I think he’ll go far. He’ll win much better races than this.” Said Yeoh after the impressive victory. “He’s a very decent horse! He’s only small but he’s got a big heart.”
A three-year-old HUSSONET gelding from the NOTHIN’ LEICA DANE mare AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’, STEPITUP was an A$90,000 yearling purchase and has returned around S$100,000 in prizemoney for his three victories.
Dynamic are constantly following results from all over the globe to make sure that we are up to date with the racing world yet this gelding is one we have watched keenly from the start of his career. We have done so because here at Dynamic, we purchased an individual that is extremely closely related to this emerging Singaporean superstar. We purchased our NORTHERN METEOR – VILLA VALENCIA colt at the Magic Millions sales of 2012 after inspecting a well conformed readymade racehorse with a brilliant black type pedigree.
Our Northern Meteor - Villa Valencia colt on show in New Zealand
Our colt is by the unraced BELONG TO ME mare, VILLA VALENCIA and is bred to be a stakes quality colt. Villa Valencia is a three-quarter sister to Gr2 placed PARFUMIER and a half-sister to stakes placed PATOU (who was the dam of Golden Slipper winner, POLAR SUCCESS) and Icecapade (Dam of dual stakes winner, AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’). As previously mentioned, STEPITUP is out of AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ making the undefeated gelding and our promising colt very closely related.
Managing Director of Dynamic Syndications, Dean Watt has had plenty of success with this family in the past. In 2003, he became the first person to publicly syndicate a Golden Slipper winner when Polar Success won in spectacular fashion. Our athletic colt is showing some of the same signs that Polar Success showed early in her career before going on to win over $2.1m in prizemoney for her clients. We believe that this colt has all the makings of a brilliant racehorse who could potentially be our next big Gr1 winner at Dynamic Syndications.
POLAR SUCCESS won the 2003 Golden Slipper for Dean Watt and his clients
As we take a closer look at the pedigree of this bay colt, we see even more black type littered throughout the page with stakes winners BIT OF A SKITE, SHAGOLVIN, YANKEE GOLD, CIRCLES OF GOLD, ELVSTROEM and HARADASUN all featuring. He is bred to be a quick from a young age and the reports that have fed through from our expert team indicate that she is a ready-made racehorse.
However Dynamic have once again gone beyond the call of duty and are attempting a new form of Syndication that puts you as the client, in the box seat. The Northern Meteor – Villa Valencia colt was among one of three colts that we flew over to the Ready to Run sale in New Zealand to show everybody just how good they were going. We had no intension of selling our colts (despite receiving bids of up to NZ$220,000) as the plan was to show the world the ability that they had before syndicating them back in Australia.
Our Northern Meteor - Villa Valencia colt breezed up in the super slick time of 10.63s which was a whopping 0.22 better than the average of the sale. This is a phenomenally good effort considering that he was not fully pushed out to the line, is still learning his trade and has plenty of improvement left in him. There is big wraps on this striking individual who we already know can run based on his easy breeze up which can be viewed below. This colt will be trained by Sydney’s leading trainer, CHRIS WALLER who has been waiting for this colt to arrive after first casting his eye over him at the Magic Millions sales in January.
We are hopeful of seeing this exciting colt on the racetrack soon and preparing for the late 2yo races and early 3yo events. With an exciting family that is littered with black type as well as being a close relation to a potential Singapore Superstar, shares are not likely to last long in the colt.
