Robert Heathcote - Leading Brisbane Trainer Dean & Adam Watt - Dynamic Syndications
Continuing with our stated business philosophy and our company motto to
“RACE THE BEST WITH THE BEST”
…. For our owners it was a natural progression.
We needed to have access to the
BEST TRAINERS
wherever we send horses to compete.
Without doubt,
Robert Heathcoat is in the top echelon of trainers Australia wide
and at the
pinnacle of his craft
in his home state of Brisbane.
With prizemoney levels at all time high in Queensland and with access to horses eligible for the rich
QTIS Series
(for horses bred by Queensland based sires), then working with the best trainers in Brisbane is paramount for the continued growth of our own business and the ongoing racing enjoyment of our owners.
From Rob’s perspective, we are delighted to be able to offer him access to some of the best bloodlines in Australia with conformation to match.
The Team at Dynamic Syndications
look forward to being able to
syndicate yearlings with Rob in 2016
and also this alliance gives us an excellent channel in which to supply horses into the Brisbane racing scene that have reached their glass ceilings in Sydney and Melbourne.
In particular, with our well-bred fillies and mares, it allows us the opportunity to add further to their pedigree page before racetrack retirement, allowing the opportunity of increasing their residual broodmare value.
Robert Heathcote – About our
Dynamic
Racehorse Trainer
Rob believes that owners are the most important people in racing, a philosophy that sits well with the team from Dynamic Syndications.
It is also widely acknowledged Rob has an excellent level of communication for owners which also sits well with Team Dynamic and compliments our own determined drive to deliver the best racing information flow possible for our owners.
Robert Heathcote, provides us with regular updates and has a very approachable personality that makes owners feel like part of the 'racing family'.
Whilst there is never any guarantee of racetrack success, there is a guarantee that Rob’s owners that join his stables through Dynamic Syndications, will be the best informed owners in racing.
Robert Heathcote Racing
- Stables and Facilities
Robert Heathcote stables are comprised over two complexes: (a) Mein Street Racing Stables and (b) On course Eagle Farm Racing Stables which offer a variety of stabling options which can suit individual thoroughbreds.
Mein Street Racing Stables
Rob and his family live onsite at their Mein Street Stables.
The facility has a covered walking exerciser and a covered round yard/sand roll.
There are 20 large airy boxes with electric fans and also 7 covered yards.
The Mein Street stables are situated adjacent to the 1,000 metre shute at the Eagle Farm race track.
This ideal stable location allows the horses to be worked out of the yard each morning which gives them the a good walk to get onto the training tracks at Eagle Farm and a good walk home to the stables .
The racehorses are all then rolled and washed and walked at the stables before being boxed again.
On Course Racing Stables
Robert’s on course racing stables at Eagle farm racetrack are perfectly situated at the top of the straight. Large airy boxes in amongst a quiet setting on the track offer an ideal, calm environment for horses.
A 10 horse exercise walker is complimented by a rubberised sand roll, tie up stalls and a hosing bays.
The Racehorses do extremely well in these stables with many winners emanating from these racing facility.
The diversity of both stables gives Robert a number of options to suit the individual horse’s requirements.

Profile - Robert Heathcote
Robert Heathcote, grew up in Launceston, Tasmania.
Coming from a non-racing family background, Rob’s early career choices could not have been any further from Horse Racing.
He began his working life with the Examiner newspaper as a Photo Engraver.
Upon completion of his indentures, he embarked on an overseas ‘adventure’ to Europe.
Rob spent the next fifteen years travelling extensively all over the world working initially with Contiki Tours as a Guide and a Tour Manager with Industry Heavyweights Trafalgar Tours and Insight International Travel and he also managed a Ski Lodge in an Austrian Ski resort for several winter seasons.
Rob’s first introduction to the world of Thoroughbred Racing was visiting the many racetracks of England where he worked with his brother, Wayne.
Rob got to witness some of the world’s finest horse flesh including the great, Danehill race.
Having decided to return home to Australia and establish roots Rob and his wife Vicky reviewed all options available to them, Rob decided Brisbane would be perfect due to the excellent climate.
His brother had a number of horses in training with many of the leading trainers and Rob commenced being his brother’s racing manager working in with the trainers and liaising with his brother on their progress and race planning.
After a while Rob decided to take up the challenge of training racehorses. Despite a hesitance due to a limited knowledge, it was a challenge Rob embraced throwing himself into the task, absorbing as much information as he could in the early years.
Robert was granted his racehorse trainer’s license in 1997 and he applied his life skills and common sense to finish sixth in the Premiership in his first year as a trainer with only a small team of racehorses.
Ever willing to learn and improve upon his skills, he sought advice from some of the industry greats in Eric Kirwan and the late Bruce McLachlan.
Rob says: “sure I made mistakes, but I was very careful not to make them again and to learn from them.”
Over the next decade and a half, Rob has trained over a 1,000 winners and has been named the Queensland Trainer of the year on several occasions to go with his
5 Brisbane Metropolitan Premiership
titles and
2 Queensland Training Premierships
in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
Whilst in the 2014-15 racing season Rob trained
90 Race Wins
in Queensland.
