PETER MOODY and MICK PRICE both enjoyed a good day at Sandown yesterday as they took out three races between them. Both Mick and Peter are having another great year with both camps training at a strike rate of almost 20%. Mick Price currently sits 6th on the trainers premiership with 86.5 winners for the season at a strike rate of 19.6% while Moody sits in 3rd position with a total of 117 winners at a strike rate of 19.8%.
Mick Price and Peter Moody are both experiencing great seasons so far
MOODY’S good day started in the second race at Sandown when 3yo gelding WHITE SAMBUCA broke his maiden at just his third start in an impressive performance. MICK PRICE was the next of our trainers in the winner’s circle when 3yo Al Maher colt AJEEB blew away his rivals to make it back to back wins. The day finished with a Dynamic quinella as the MOODY trained SINO EAGLE beat home the PRICE trained SPIRIT OF SOUL to cap off a good day for both trainers. Peter also added another winner at Wyong when the well supported FASTNET ROCK colt MONBAZILLAC made the successful trip up north while MICK added a stakes placing when TARIANA was beaten a nose into 3rd in the LR Vamos Stakes.
Both trainers are gearing up for a big Autumn carnival which should be aided by the return of a number of Dynamic horses. The MICK PRICE trained HIRAD is due to begin racing within the next couple of weeks and we are excited for his return. He is coming off the back of two good jump outs performances at Caulfield which has put a smile on the face of both Team Price and Dynamic Syndications. HIRAD showed that he had genuine ability during his first racing preparation finishing 3rd at his first two starts despite the saddle slipping on both occasions. This time in the 3yo NOT A SINGLE DOUBT gelding has visibly got big and stronger and is developing nicely into his frame. MICK is very happy with how he is coming along and we hope that it is not too long before we see him galloping over the line in first position.
Hirad following his jumpout earlier this week
PETER MOODY also has two horses that will take aim at some Autumn racing with MEDVEDEV and MAGNILOQUENT both showing their ability last preparation. MAGNILOQUENT is due to return into PETER MOODY's system later this week. He is handling everything well and our expert team of pre-trainers have been very happy with him to date. Every time more pressure is applied to MAGNILOQUENT, he respond in turn and continues to impress at the farm. Last preparation, the 3yo Magnus gelding made the successful move from PETER’s Caulfield base to his Sydney stables at Rosehill. MAGNILOQUENT relished the change of environment winning his maiden Sydney start before finishing 2nd at a Saturday Rosehill meeting. We hope to see more top performances by MAGNILOQUENT this time in.
Magniloquent before his Hawkesbury win last prep
MEDVEDEV was seen at the racetrack for the first time last preparation and had the MOODY camp doing cartwheels with his performances. After winning on debut at Seymour against a very competitive field, MEDVEDEV ran at Caulfield where he suffered from a little bit of second up syndrome. Third start in, the 3yo Commands gelding showed just how good he was settling at the tail of the field, rounding his rivals and blowing them away by an amazing five lengths. This was enough for the MOODY camp to send him back to the city races for his next two starts where he was badly held up on both occasions and never had a good crack at them. Since that time, MEDVEDEV has been in the paddock spelling and is now currently undergoing pre-training work. He has progressed through three weeks of light work at Mornington with no issues. All being well, PETER hopes to have him back into the Caulfield stables in the next two weeks and winning races soon after that.
Medvedev has come on since his first preparation
Mick and Peter have both been a successful part of the Dynamic Team for many years. They have both trained a number of Dynamic winners and with the Inglis Premier Sale just around the corner, they will come into consideration to train more Dynamic yearlings. We are very excited about the prospects of HIRAD, MEDVEDEV and MAGNILOQUENT going forward and we are extremely hopeful that all will be in the winner’s circle again soon. Dynamic will endeavour to keep you up to date with Mick and Peter as they look for more stakes success over the Autumn carnival.
