There was a long time between drinks and we waited the best part of a day and a half but as they say
“patience is a virtue.”
It proved to be the case again late on
Tuesday afternoon at the Inglis Sales complex.
Here at Dynamic Syndications, we believe we pulled off the
“steal of the sale.”
We secured a magnificent individual and one of
Gai Waterhouse’s “MUST HAVE” fillies.
She was lot 578 a Bay / Brown Filly by exciting International Darley Sire of 66 Stakes Winners including 12 Gr1 Winners
MEDAGLIA D’ORO.
His most notable international runner amongst his
12 Gr1 Winners is world renowned RACHEL ALEXANDRA.
In Australia, his oldest are just 3yo’s. He has only had 55 runners to date for 26 Winners, 3 Stakes Winners and 4 Stakes Placegetters including: VANCOUVER, NOSTRADAMUS, JAVA, Matilija, Monteux, Shaumari, Thalia, etc.
Gai Waterhouse has a huge opinion of her colt VANCOUVER who she rates as an exceptional chance to win the Golden Slipper this year.
Being by this international Darley shuttle sire sensation was important enough but the emphasis is placed equally on the brilliance of our filly’s pedigree.
Our filly is from the international racemare and
Australian Gr2 winner TRICK OF LIGHT by Dansilli.
She won 6 races from 1212 to 2000m, in Great Britain and Australia inc:
SAJC Queen of the South S., Gr2, MRC Select H., 2d VRC Matron S., Gr3, 4th SAJC Rain Lover P., LR, and $243,333.
TRICK OF LIGHT is a half-sister to the dam of ANONIMO VENEZIANO – Champion 3yo Sprinter of Italy in 2009.
TRICK OF LIGHT’S Grand-dam is the brilliant racemare and Champion Broodmare
MONROE. A Gr3 winner in Ireland and a full sister to 2 Stakes Winners including Successful Sire
GIELGUD, MALINOWSKI and stakes placed Minnie Hauk. She has produced 14 winners including Stakes Winners:
XAAR – Gr1 Newmarket Dewhurst and Successful Sire
MASTERCLASS – Gr3 Winner in France and Proven Sire
DIESE – Gr3 Winner and Dam of Gr1 Winner SENURE
ILE DE JINSKY – Stakes Winner in the USA
Didicoy – Gr3 placed, Dam of a Gr3 Winner DIDINA and grand-dam of a Gr1 Winner CITYSCAPE.
The filly we purchased was bred at
Rick Jamieson’s Gilgai Farm arguably one of the best independent breeders in Australia.
He has bred many stakes winners including
BLACK CAVIAR.
So it was little wonder on this female pedigree and bred on the
Saddler’s Wells over Danehill cross that on genetic evaluation, this filly on our rating scores, was in the top 5% of the catalogue.
Add in her wonderful athletic conformation and exceptional looks and balance, she was a high priority to Dynamic.
Next, add in the huge opinion that
Champion Trainer and Australia’s First Lady of Racing has about the sire, it was easy to make this filly
a “must have yearling.”
The fact the filly is eligible for
both BOBS and VOBIS as well as the Inglis Race Series makes her a wonderful racing prospect with a huge residual value upon racetrack retirement.
To secure her for just $105,000 + GST would have to be one of the greatest bargain buys we’ve made in many years.
