Dynamic Syndications stayer PERPLEXITY is attempting to win 3 races in a row as he lines up as top weight in race 1 at Doomben on Saturday.
PERPLEXITY will compete in the SKY RACING Open Handicap over 2200m.
Winning at Doomben over 2,220m 7/11
Winning at Doomben over 2000m 24/10
He has won his past two starts at the same track and distance. Under the Open Handicap conditions the handicapper is forced to keep him at the same weight of 59.0kgs.
Trainer Chris Munce has yet again retained senior
jockey Jeff Lloyd for the mount on
Perplexity at Doomben on Saturday with the leading hoop having been aboard on his past two race wins.
Jockey Jeff Lloyd
Lloyd turned in a masterful ride when he steered the Dynamic
Syndications owned, Chris Munce-trained Perplexity to win over 2000m at Doomben four weeks ago.
Then he was
too strong again at Doomben over the 2,220m trip two weeks ago despite going up a kilo and up 220m.
Perplexity is among the fancied runners again for this event.
Currently a $2.70 favourite ahead of Col’N’Lil at $3.10, Highly Gentle at $4.00 and Uno Five at $5.00.
These three runners he met and defeated last start.
"In my experience, often stayers can go better for senior riders. Jeff was able to judge the pace beautifully at his past two starts," he said.
"Perplexity isn't a hard horse to ride but he does need the pace on.
"Sometimes younger riders can find stayers pulling on them."
Munce has done a good job with Perplexity since the stayer was
transferred by Dynamic Syndications from Sydney to Brisbane earlier this year.
The gelding has
won four races for Munce and in the process collected more than
$196,000 prize money.
"He is racing well and I don't think we have seen the best of him because I really believe he wants 2400 metres or even 3200 metres," Munce said.
Chris Munce - Trainer
Munce has advised that the horse has maintained his condition since his last start and will be a fit and tough racehorse heading into this event.
“I can’t fault him” he said.
Dynamic Syndications wish all our owners of Perplexity the Best of Luck.
