Day 2 at this year’s Magic Millions Sale’s was once again an incredibly strong market seeing a further increase in the average, median and clearance rate.
By the time the last lot went under the hammer, the average had risen to
$171,284 up from yesterday’s high of $166,679 and way up from the 2014 average of $141,836. This is a staggering $29,748 (20.97%) increase. The median jumped a further $10,000 on Day 2, closing at
$140,000. The clearance rate spiked up 6.7% to 82.6% from 77.4% the previous day.
However it wasn’t all the vendors way throughout the day. There were a few quite patches in the catalogue where the sale lost intensity and the edges to these zones proved fertile shopping ground for Team Dynamic.
Having already put 5 high quality yearlings into our system on Day 1 of the Sale, we set about adding further to our numbers. It was tough going and again we were experiencing the drama of being underbidders on 6 of 16 lots we bid upon throughout the day.
However by the time the hammer fell on the final lot we had added
4 magnificent lots to our collection.
Incredibly the addition of these lots to our stable had us finish in a tie for 2nd position on the leading buyers by individual lots at the sale.
James Harron / Peter Snowden Racing have secured 13 lots ($3,070,000) for their large international clients.
Whilst on
9 lots there is a 3 way tie between: Dynamic Syndications ($890,000), Gai Waterhouse ($2,080,000) and fellow syndicator Star Thoroughbreds ($1,155,000).
