Anytime a
Dynamic Syndications horse
wins we
enjoy the thrill with our
ownership team however it was particularly sweet on Friday afternoon when quality sprinter
DREAM CHOICE (5yo g Redoute’s Choice x Patou) carried 60.5 kgs for trainer
Darren Smith and jockey
Robert Thompson in a Bm 65 1100m event and in the process of winning, going on to set a
NEW TRACK RECORD time of
1:02.52 slashing 0.28 off the established mark.
In winning the
INGLIS TRIPLE CROWN IS ALIVE ON GUINEAS DAY Bm 65 Hcp over the 1100m, it was the pure dominance of the win that was so exhilarating for the team. He was eased down in the last 75m and was still widening the margin in an effortless display. He recorded his last 600m in 32.77.
Jumping away evenly, there was speed pressure applied from the outside as a couple attempted to establish the lead from wide draws. That allowed
Dream Choice to settle on the back of the speed but trapped 3 deep however he was on the back of the favourite Pro Consul (G Buckley) gaining cover. As they swung for home,
Dream Choice peeled out 4 wide and in a couple of bounds went up to eyeball the leaders for 50m and then Robert let the brakes off and
Dream Choice responded in a twinkling to kick clear and put the race beyond doubt.
We were astounded when the TV commentators said that he had set a
new track record.
Always a promising horse that didn’t have a lot go right for him in his early career,
Dream Choice has now recorded
24 starts: 4 wins – 4 seconds – 2 thirds and $119,035 prizemoney. He has won twice at Wyong, once at Hawkesbury and is now the
TRACK RECORD HOLDER at Scone.
DREAM CHOICE was bred by
Gerry Harvey at Baramul Stud and was purchased by Dynamic Syndications at the
Inglis Easter Sales in 2010.
DREAM CHOICE is the half brother to our
GOLDEN SLIPPER WINNER – POLAR SUCCESS.
